Tree Care Above & Below Ground
Brian Holers, certified with the International Society of Arboriculture (I.S.A.) since 1996, launched Root Cause, L.L.C. to provide a more comprehensive approach to tree care than existed previously, and is pioneering below ground tree and root work into the overall care of trees. Brian is one of a very small group of arborists in Seattle skilled to provide tree and root care and related services below as well as above ground.rootcauseseattle.com/

Hi, I plant a "Terminalia arjuna" tree near my house. Like 8' feet away the foundation. I hope its too close. I love the tree its still a plant, I want to keep it smaller like. Is that too close ?. (I know its close) How much feet should I move away from my foundation. I want that tree near my house and shade so bad. Any tips from tree lovers?

Silly question, but why aren't these installed around all foundations as a precaution when homes are built?

Picking up that by the trunk and letting all that weight pull down, will hurt it. Work it out of the pot, then move it by moving the root ball.

What you don't talk about though bro is that roots when under ground in clay material can produce a chemical call seleniosihyratenimbybuttockosis. When seleniosihyratenimbybuttockosis comes in contact with the cementious foundation material it creates a hydrolisymbiosis technicvibrationskolios byproduct that will alleviate hemotabmonocytistessplendiferiousness. I don't know if you are trying to keep that a secret or not.

Used a plasma cutter while going to welding school at Lake Washington Tech. Cut through 1" steel plate like it was butter. Looks like these guys are having trouble blowing the slag out the bottom of the grate as they're sitting directly on the dirt.
@mtraven23
@mtraven23 4 месяца назад
@@dmanrocks007 thats fair, but its still the easiest possible way to cut them. imagine using an abrasive wheel of some sort! I do wonder if you couldn't just shatter it with a sledge, its just cast iron and its perforated...I think ya could.

Great video, this is the exact problem that our building and many other have in Chicago. You guys could make a fortune here. One question, when the base of the tree overlaps the tree grate, can this contribute to killing the tree? Once you cut out the grate from the base of the tree, then how do you get the remaining metal away from the base of the tree?

Roots are like people, when you work in landscaping, you can’t run them over with a mower just bc they get in your way.

1 season lol. Depends where you live, I'm on the edge of town in Vegas and wind gusts coming across the desert are very very destructive. Up to 80mph gusts sometimes with the occasional 50mph sustained for the whole day. Wood stakes snap right off so I use metal fence posts with the plate at the bottom. Yes I give them room to sway but I wouldn't dare unstake them after a year, especially the Chinese pistache with slim trunks when they are young.

Nice southren magnolia. I appreciate you teaching the proper way to plant and transplant. Believe it or not, the owner of a company i managed tried to fight me over this... his fight was that they need to be burried deeper like 4 inch deeper... below grade up the trunk... says the damn roots down need oxygen.

Basically it's not as detrimental if it's too high and it's easier to correct. But it's fucked if it's too low (rotting issues)

@georgewilliamsiii4677 lol yeah it is very confusing to put it in those terms. Just keep in mind not to bury the trunk flare. No need to think if it's too shallow or deep cos that's not a precise measurement at all.
