We are Jon and Karlynn Elliott and we are on an adventure! Our adventure starts with us purchasing a 2010 48' Navigator yacht. Follow us as we transition from living in a house to living aboard a yacht in the PNW. We will show our day to day life of living aboard, maintenance, and cruising the beautiful pacific northwest and the San Juan Islands. I hope our videos will inspire you to enjoy life on a boat and the steps it takes to do so.
I’m buying a gen 3 for a houseboat that only runs around 7 knots. Am I correct that it’s not necessary to point the dish using app during installation? Because I’ll be laying it flat and I don’t see how I’ll be able to point it once mounted.
@@dr.b661 I’ve had a gen3 flat on the top of our boat since they were released, with no performance degradation (100-300Mbps). However, nearby obstructions are always need to be considered. My recommendation is to temporarily place the gen3 on the top of your boat for a day. After letting the software identify any obstructions and testing the performance you can 1) permanently mount it, or 2) move it if there are obstructions, or 3) return it within 30 day if it is an unworkable solution. Hope that helps!
Good looking set up. To remove heat gun on weld mount will usually soften the epoxy enough to do minimal deck damage . obviously protect the rest of deck from the heat of gun. A powerful soldering iron might provide enough heat too. I have similiar mounts that have threaded holes in them so you can use different length bolts for you application. Cheers warren
Interesting that it would reduce your boat swinging The kellett Set up That ive seenhave a hook designed to slide down the chain Allowing you to Deploy at whatever depth you want To Retrieve it You can just lift it off the chain And then over the side at the appropriate time . perhaps you could have got rid of the bridal or snubbed setup using this kelttet? Can you go Into more detail about the stabilizer you used to stop swinging? Cheers Warren
Oh sweetheart, this was recorded when the only ‘essential’ services provided had to be masked. If we didn’t mask we couldn’t have a certified Captain work with Karlynn. We considered the sacrifice worth the education and sharing it. That said, Vote appropriately, so we don’t have to make that sacrifice in the future. - Peace
@@ElliYacht1title says review, so does thumbnail, even says boats rv’s. Nice try captain america. With that kinda response it’s no wonder you have low subscribers. And nowhere in your title does it say “comparison”
Any chance of an update: I am considering the purchase of a Navigator 5600 or 57 Rival but wife and I really want stabilization. It's a huge cost relative to the cost of the boat and not so sure. Can you use this system when at the dock? Any update or further comments on your experience now you've had them for a while would be GREATLY appreciated.
I'd say re apply a layer every 18 months or even every year . That would definitely cut the price down as basically all the polishing and cutting will be out of the picture .
I purchased these as well after Bill posted them. However, I've not been able to come up with a code that works in all cases. It appears you have as you suggest dock, hook, and running. Please share your code because it will help me get clarity on mine. Thank you.
Really didn't appreciate "sailboaters" being referred to as freeloading bums...this opinionated guy is exactly the kind of person that is ruining what was once a wonderful lifestyle.
It was my lived experience. I guess who is, ‘ruining what was a wonderful lifestyle’ is a matter of perspective. Prove my past experience wrong by behavior and I will continue to evolve my opinion.
So let’s just say for the sake of argument I’m a drug dealer. Cant I just get the inspection and then be free and clear for the year? Idk it makes zero sense to me.
I see you have learned the CLICKBAIT lesson of RU-vid and put a woman in a bikini on your thumbnail, regardless of how it is or is not related to your video. Good job. Well done.
You talked in an earlier video about the importance of being stable underway, at the dock, or at anchor. But this fin's stabilization systems exactly mimic a twin killed sailboat, which is one of the reasons they are more stable in all conditions. It looks like it would only be good while the boat is in motion. How does it work when you were at the dock, or at anchor?
Unless I missed it, you didn't compare the dishes around trees/obstructions. Supposedly the HP excels around trees/obstructions. Also suppose to excel with rain and snow storms.
how can starlink not able to function in motion when i can watch streaming and can stream myself using my smartphone while in a roller coaster? starlink reeks with bs coz they know it's a life threatening situation out in the middle of an ocean!
Hello and thank you for posting about your new Flexiteek deck on Elli Yacht. We love the look of it in our bleached colour option. Great choice for a beautiful boat. Thank you for all your lovely comments about Flexiteek. It is very much appreciated. Best wishes, The Flexiteek team (Steve Moore - Global Marketing Manager).
I’m planning on getting one for my Class B+ camper. If my memory serves me correctly you can purchase a conversion kit to turn the dishwasher into a secondary sink serving double duty. Surprisingly even at the intensive wash setting uses less than 4 gallons of water is quite amazing.
Hi Thanks for the video. I just have 2 4 foot Grady. I started using Thompson water seal about 2 yeras ago. The darn stuff last over a year and it is a fraction of the cost of ceramic. Thompson water seal can be used on Gel coat without any probelm. The probelsm with the ceramic coating is that a layer of cermic is only a micron in thiskness. I can spunge on as much silicone as I want for a fraction of the costs.
I love your videos. I recently bought a Galeon 56 Fly and am going through the videos looking at all of your great tips. In this video what kind of water hardness tester are you using?
