Because it's the climax to the powerful message that the weak, poor, take your pick people, don't have to give into people above them. That the underdog as it were, can come out on top, can make a difference and change things for the better. His brother tried in his own way, but couldn't succeed, but Speed did, in HIS own way.
3:06 this moment an when his father stands up after the ben burns flashback and racing hasnt changed just makes this scene so beautiful with this shot 😢 🔥
Having watched the originals growing up with my older brothers in the 70s, this was an INCREDIBLE and PERFECT Adaptation of the Anime. People complained at the time that there was "TOO MUCH PLOT".. Really.. TOO much.. WTH SMH man. The Visuals, story, Spirit and SOUL of the original are PERFECTLY captured. This is akin to Knight Rider, which could have taken the basic premise FROM Speed Racer, about a guy with a super car that takes on evil corporations, but with Knight Rider he's a former cop, in Speed Racer he's a top racer fighting against big racing evil. This movie got EVERYTHING RIGHT about the Characters actions, spirit, voices, actions etc. Pop was a Genius who turned out the best car ever in the Powerful Mach 5 and the whole issue with Racer X possibly being Speeds long assumed dead brother was sooo moving it's hard even for guys NOT to tear up at this. They did this SOOO Well it's Right up there with the Matrix and is without a doubt one of THE BEST Cartoon to movie adaptations ever IMO. From the actors and announcers GOING CRAZY to the Family and crowd blowing up to that first scene when he's able to restart the Mach 6 and she takes off at probably 300+ MPH is just Phenomenally DONE!
The whole speech about why Speed loves to drive is so beautiful. It just speaks about how art changes, evolves, even gets turned into a business by some people, but most importantly, why we are drawn into it
The moment he crosses the finish line and you recognize the intro to the show absolutely murders me every time. Love the people in the booth completely losing their shit.
Nadie murio, los autos estan equipados con un sistema de eyección para cuando los mismos son destruidos, por eso pueden permitirse carreras tan endiabladas, puedes ver como las esferas protectoras salen de los dos autos al estrellarse.
Wachowskis were tasked to make a live-action remake of an old anime. Instead they made one of the best live-action remake of all time, The best anime adaptation ever and created a compelling story about people who love the sport and people who want to benefit from it no matter the cost. Woth two ideologies clashing in realistic and terrifying way. I loved this movie since the premiere, shame it never got the recognition it deserved.
As an avid and lifelong NASCAR fan who’s watched the sport since I was 3, this is one of the most accurate depictions of racing. There are the teams who only want the money and fame, and the ones who have done this for lifetimes over. Thats why I love drivers like Dale Earnhardt Jr, Ross Chastain, Briscoe, Reddick; they all do this for the sport, driven by family and passion.
There are people on this planet who when watching the climax of _Speed Racer_ sense more than just the thrills of a colorful action-comedy but feel its core on deeply spiritual level. This is the greatest meaning of cinema, when moving pictures and sound force out of us our purest emotions and dreams with full throttle. For that minority, this is more than a movie scene. This is the ultimate joy of experiencing the vast potential of ourselves, where when we fully commit to what we love the most, not even the rainbow will be able to catch up.
I'm going to be honest, at the time I was only there for the action and never actually paid attention to the story. Looking back on this years later, I don't think I ever gave it a chance. I'm regretting it now because now that I'm older I'm actually loving this movie
I'll be defending this right beside ye! This is one of my all-time favourite movies and you BETTER BELIEVE that I'm crying by the end, I LOVE THIS MOVIE!
Speed coming out of the explosion and the checker board pattern from the anime theme song being around him will always be a top 10 moment in any movie for me
That’s why the ending was so special it felt like we all won the race beat corruption and did it in front of the ones who believed in you from the beginning
