I beleive it´s Bill Hollowman playing the piano in the intro. He`s wearing a tenor saxophone also. He has also been a long time member of Nile Rodgers band named Chic were he plays the tenor saxophone. A truly versatile and talented musician ! Keep on doing it Nile nd Bill !
I was about ten feet in front of him when this happened. Pair this with that Stevie Ray Vaughan video where he plays behind his back to see some of the finest six string prowess and showmanship there's ever been!
They, Roy , and Danny, please tell me if you know any better improvise's than these two, guitar type, nothing to do with it! Damn if I could cover up a cock up like these geniuses
@@superfishially my youngest son of two, died of accidental overdose. Yes addiction is the most horrible thing to experience for the patient and his parents and family.
I saw Danny Gatton play live one summer night in Quebec City, many, many years ago. Never heard of the guy before. Needless to say, the very next day I went to buy his CD at the nearest music store.
A family friend and the guitarist in my mom’s band (the Swing Riders) in the Maryland/DC area in the late 70s gave me vhs copies of ACL performances to expose me to great players when I started playing guitar around age 12. One tape had this particular legendary set and I was so blown away at the time. I thought bill holloman reminded me of John Candy from Planes, Trains, and Automobiles lol. Danny was at the height of his powers and tone and was just a one-man wrecking crew. Add in his band, and nobody could stop him. I still grin every time he says, “that’s as high as it goes”. R.I.P. Danny. Best fusion of styles and best telecaster player ever.
