Can 3 days go any slower?!! I go every summer and spring/fall, and crossing the bridge is just the start to my vacation!! I live in Virginia and it is a 5-6 hour drive so getting on that long stretch of road and onto the bridge is one of the greatest feeling. Also going through the tunnel under the James River is fun because you know your getting closer.
Omg I'm from penslyvannia and every one in myfamilyhas been going there before we were all born from me to my dad and mom and his parents and omg I can't believe it we feel the same way and the bridge and the dare county sign all that! It's amazing plus I love the under water tunnel even though it's a ways away lol
Love this song- I am heading up to Maine for the shore and can't wait. Your pictures were so cute of the kids! Love your harmonies! I can relate to leaving the city behind! !
been to the obx many times!! you have to see this place. everywhere you go it is absolutely beautiful. from corolla to hatteras island . my favorite is rodanthe nc.
Although I Write & record More R&B jazz Styled Music, I Must Admit This Song Is Very very Good. It Took me Places Where I Had Not Been (in My Mind) For A Very Long Time. (its A Hit waiting To Happen) Godbless & Good Luck YOU GOT MY VOTE I Love This Song.
Hello Josephalan: I really appreciate your kind words. I guess as songwriters/musicians we always strive to take the listeners to those "special" places in their mind. Many times we come up short in that attempt. I am grateful and thankful for your feedback.....all the best..
What a thoughtful series! That's what makes this place so special, that feeling that you can't quite put your finger on. I'm from PA so another great OBX moment is crossing the CBBT on the way there. That's our first experience with that awesome salt air on the way there, when the truck's window gets rolled down to pay the toll. Great place, Great people, Great times. God bless.
My husband died in late 2009. His ashes were spread in the ocean along his favorite beach on Hattaeras.......the OBX was his slice of heaven on earth....our magic....no matter what went down during the year, this was our sanctuary.......bliss.......and I heard this song tonight and I sobbed like a baby......Thank you for this......Bobby would've loved it. I love it. Nothing like the Outer Banks, never will be..... Going again only solo.....September 7th.....
Great video. It's too bad that the rangers didn't let you walk around the railling. On Memorial Day long weekend I went up Bodie Island, Currituck Beach, and Cape Hatteras lighthouses on the same trip. At Currituck Beach lighthouse it was very windy and rainy, but they still allowed me to walk around the railing. Perhaps it's because it wasn't operated by the NPS. The rangers did close the railing at Cape Hatteras and fortunately I spent the night at Buxton and was able go again the next day.
Yes! You Nailed that feeling! Great emotions ~ Real! True Outer Banks! Maybe for your next piece ~> The leaving experience? Different but unique emotions ~ Especially when your tires hit that Bridge ~ Backed and Rolling... do we stop at Morris' for fresh healthy snacks or maybe Tar Heel I ?? BJ's BBQ? Honey ~ any room left in the cooler? Thanks for sharing this!! #OuterBanksNorthCarolina #SeeYaRealSoon!
I kept waiting for you to mention the part about the kids competing to see who "saw" the blue sneak-peeks of the ocean first. Just for the record, I always won :P
