Loved KOL since first album, loved the 2nd, hated the third, not over keen on 4th but the rest, brilliant. I never thought (for me) anything would beat the amazing raw sound of the first two albums but 'Can we please have Fun' album blows my mind. Met KOL at my first KOL gig in 2005 (been to 6) and what amazing, down to earth guys! I'm now 68 but age has no barriers when it comes to the best music and the most amazing band!
9:07 One of KOL's AC30 amps ended up with English band The Sherlocks. They were selling it a few years back, I wanted to buy it but got outbid. I wonder where it is now, I hope it's with a working band and not gathering dust with some collector.
KOL def not talkers and even when on stage they don't interact that much. This interview looks like one of those rare times when Caleb was honest and talked about quite a personal stuff. I know he hates interviews and the whole fame thing. So it's nice to hear these stories from him...
I am a retired teacher. The teacher in me just wants to give Caleb a big hug and tell him how special he is. He seems more secure with who he is now in 2024. Love that for him. I realize this video is older.
I remember watching kings of leon at Cardiff arena in 2005. They were amazing. I always knew that they were special. I remember I was in a nightclub 3 years later and sex on fire was getting played 5 or 6 times by the DJ and people were going nuts for it. I remember thinking how surreal it was to not only hear them being played in a nightclub that mainly played the hip hop, r n'b, pop and dance tracks of the day but how everyone was reacting to it. I knew at that moment that everything had changed. It was really hard for a lot people to swallow at the time just how much of leap they had taken from the first 3 albums but for me it was inevitable that they would be recognised.
Loved them from first album. The raw singing on first albums suits their age and trying that energy to break through but calebs voice now ... jeez .. Amazing. In england uk, we absolutely loved KOL and embraced them before they made it in the usa
the most vague origin story ever. They just started writing songs even though none of them could play music??? Then they got signed?? lololoololooooooooooolol um ok!
Have absolutely loved this band since they dropped their first album. Watching this all these years later, it's so obvious that they were going to implode due to alcoholism.
