My channel features projects produced, written, directed and in some cases starring Jason C. Gares. Some of the "artistic" offerings shared on this channel include being an author, director, editor, graphic designer, marketer, photographer and videographer. Building model kits, building LEGO sets, playing video games and filming informational panels at various conventions and events are some of the subjects featured on this channel.
Thank you for the question. I'm sorry I haven't responded sooner, as I've been very busy of late. First, I would purchase water-based acrylic paints only. Two colors should do. A dark undercoat, and a lighter overcoat to dry brush on, which will bring out more details. I hope this helps.
I accidentally broke a shoulder from a statue but was able to rebuild it with crazy glue and some epoxy glue that turns hard into a cement but I wanna try apoxie sculpt and the solvent to see if im able to mimick the shape the shoulder it used to be, venom premium format figure is the figure im trying to fix.
I'm pretty sure it will work on lacquer paint. Spray paint, I'm not too sure about. You'll have to give it a try and find out for yourself. If you do, please post your results here. Thanks for watching, I really appreciate it! :)
@@JasonGares I did and try to remove Revell acrylic lacquer spray paint. It worked but it was a mess, the paint became sticky and gooey and had to be wiped off with some paper towel. So basically pour some stripper, wipe off the melted paint, and repeat until most is gone. I had to do it because the paint melted the plastic a bit and crazed, and the paint stripper damaged the plastic a bit as well. Never had that happen to me before, it was a cheap Lindberg car model. Never buying a Lindberg kit again XD
Thank you for the question. All you have to do is twist-off the bottom valve from single action, then twist on the dual-action (or vice-versa). I hope this helps. Take CARE and stay SAFE!
Thanks for this. I've used Splash in the past, but the color I needed was only available from Gravity. Ordered direct from Spain, arrived in SoCal in 12 days. Have yet to use anybody's 2-part clears (not since the 90s anyway) and really like MCW single stage clearcoat. I use lacquer thinner and acetone to clean my airbrush after use with any solvent based product; 99% IPA for acrylics etc.
Thank you George, I GREATLY appreciate it! I do not make my own sculpting tools. I purchase them from art supply stores. Thanks for watching! Take CARE, stay SAFE and MODEL ON!
Sorry to hear about that. I'm really promoting the paints more over the company in this video. Of course I mention where you can get them, otherwise the video wouldn't make any sense. The video is up and I can't change it. ;)
Looks Great Jason Have Not Watched You For A while Last Time We Talked Was On The Google Sunday Hangout On Amazing Plastics #21 6+ Years Ago With Richared Cleveland I Still Due Modeling But My Channel Is DAVE,s VINTAGE APPLE TECH Which The Modeling Techniques due Come In Handy

For anyone thinking ordering Gravity Colors make sure you order from the Spain website (gravity-colors.com) and not the USA website. I ordered from both due to the confusion of which is the correct distributor, and only received paint from the Spain website, and not the other. Just know if you order from gravitycolors.com (USA) they'll just take your money unless you make a complaint with PayPal. This was my experience with the brand(s). Hope this helps.
I agree 100%. I ordered from Gravity USA three times (way before the pandemic) and their customer service is horrible. It took weeks to get product from them and I had to contact them each time. They always had a different excuse why the paint hadn't been shipped. Gravity Colors Spain is fantastic and shipping is only abou $6. I ordered paint on a Sunday and I had it by Wednesday or Thursday and this is shipping from Spain to NY (USA).
Thanks for a very timely video, Jason. I'm just about to do a 'gag' shot of some Easter Island heads and you've inspired me to do something more with the base than just use a store bought grass sheet. Stay well.
great videos and very informative ,i am very new to this hobby and i found your videos very helpful and i also subscribed to your channel. hello from australia.
Thank you, I'm very happy you enjoy my videos and find them informative. Also, thank you for subscribing, I really appreciate it! I wish you and yours a very happy and SAFE holiday season there in Australia.
Thank you! :) The beauty of this hobby is that there's NO ONE WAY of doing things. There's no right or wrong, it depends on the individual modeler how they do something. Thank you for watching and MODEL ON!
Thank you for the question! :) They are on Amazon Prime video here: www.amazon.com/gp/video/storefront/ref=atv_app_avd_vnt_plp_STEzRlo?ie=UTF8&plpId=STEzRlo. Take care, stay SAFE and MODEL ON! :)
You are correct... well sort of. After doing some digging, this is what I found out. There are TWO (2) Gravity Colors companies. I'm going to try to make this short. Gravity Colors is a company founded by modelists in Spain in 2013. Their website is Gravity-Colors.com. GravityColors.com, is the website of their former American distributor. They have no relationship with the Gravity-Colors.com website since September 2017. Supposedly they are using their brand without permission. Gravity Colors USA and Gravity Colors Europe products are NOT the same. Gravity Colors USA products are totally different from what is being sold in Europe by Gravity Colors Europe. Poor quality control, inconsistent paint quality and color accuracy on Gravity Colors Europe’s part lead to the breaking up of Gravity Colors International in September 2017. I hope this "he said, she said" explanation helps. If you need any more information, you can look it up on either website. Have a GREAT day, stay SAFE and MODEL ON!
Thanks for the review, I have been thinking of and looking at maybe buying some Gravity paints lately...probably will pull the trigger as soon as I deplete some of my paint
First time hearing about safety solvent. Does it help to soften the edge? I find that when I sculpt with Aves there's a slight ridge that ALWAYS needs to be sanded down and sometimes filled with a different putty.
You are correct... sort of. This segment was part of a longer episode from Season 1 of Video Workbench: The Scale Model Show which can be seen here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-V-XFdvMczyw.html. I decided to split up older, longer videos into smaller bite sized ones. As the original video this was part of is almost 11 minutes in length. ;) I hope this helps. :)
