Thanks for the vid and congrats! Just wondering the turnaround time was? Also is it possible to just get the signatures authenticated without getting it graded?
@SwarmofComics
@SwarmofComics 9 дней назад
Thank you so much!! The turnaround time was 13 days from when they received the books, until they shipped them out. That was in May, though. Not sure what it would be now. Things seem MUCH slower lately. As far as I can tell, if you submit to CGC for sig auth, it will also be graded. Maybe you can submit directly to JSA though.
@GregMoore7

@@SwarmofComics Thanks for the nfo. Re: Shipping, I just pulled this info off the JSA site and it looks like you gotta send everything into CGC since the acquisition: "All autographed cards (as well as comics) should be shipped to CGC or submitted to CGC at a show. All other autographed collectibles should be shipped to either JSA’s New Jersey or Florida facility, or submitted to JSA at a show."

@jonathanloera6830
@jonathanloera6830 21 день назад
@@SwarmofComics yea it's just sometimes specially when it comes to golden age books, cleaning does nothing for the grade, where talking dirt and grime that's been there for 80 years. If you're lucky you will crack it clean it just for it to come back the same grade, or even worse it can come back lower. The risk is just too much. sometimes the comic comes back the grade that it does because of mitigating factors that have nothing to do with how dirty it is, which will always keep it at a certain grade no matter what. For example detached cover/CF pieces from cover missing of a certain size , rips tears, spine splits, stains and so on. Trust me all I collect, buy and clean is golden age

I ruined a near mint 32 year old magazine (1992 release) that i've only ever seen 1 copy of sold and hunted for over 10 years (i won't say the title as it's adult orientated) with the stupid re-seal strip on the bag. Got stuck to the front cover pulled the gloss off on half the strip, worse thing is the cover is 60% jet black so sticks out like a sore thumb. THEN a few weeks later i had it out again to inventory it, no glue on the bag to stick...... laid it down top of another bag that i forgot was open pulled more gloss off but on the title this time, i don't even care about how it's lost value it's how the appearance is now ruined, I think some things of a physical nature are cursed haha. If i could get a magazine sized slab/case i'd put it in to never leave again. To cut a long story short i can see why yourself and others get them slabbed even without the grading, they are safe!! It was the tape that triggered my rant, automotive masking tape typically withstands 100℃ don't know Fahrenheit, so they don't gum up for a good amount of time. Also Kapton tape may be a good call, not to buy any as of yet, it has minimal amount of glue/residue, heat resistant so no adverse effects. Over and out... like a comic read this is.
