Welcome to my channel! I'm a Torontonian born and raised that's a transit, urban planning, filming and elevator enthusiast, plus I share my passion for them! I have been into these hobbies since I was very little and I enjoy doing what I love to do. I film public transit in Toronto (e.g full length bus rides, subway compilations, short streetcar rides), mostly old elevators or some modern ones that stand out to me and walking videos all around the city plus other random things that may tickle your fancy, like me applying my knowledge of urban planning in my videos. Alex, gorgeous thumbnail! I love the 70's vibes I get looking at the Crossways Building at Dundas West and the streetcar ride - it's amazing how you captured it passing by one of my childhood roads along the way! The retro aesthetic is spot on, and it's so cool how it transports me back to a different era. Keep up the fantastic work!
Great video. I love when you take us on an exploration of the small neighborhoods with all the little stores and school buildings. If I had been with you on this walk, we would have had to delay the start for about 30 minutes while I delved into that amazing looking antique store. Also about thirteen minutes in you strolled upon a sweet old school building, I bet those walls could talk. How can I not be happy after another episode of Alex getting around Toronto, Ontario?

Nice to see. Thanks for doing this. You got a couple of things wrong about the mall - at least as far as my memory serves - as it opened when I was in grade 8 at General Brock PS, following year went to Porter so spent lots of time at the mall. Warden Woods Mall was just north of that parking lot. Parking lot for subway was always there. Also, the mall never had a Knob Hill Farms or a Zellers. It had a Dominion (now known as Metro). It also had a Simpsons (changed to Sears I think??) Boots drug store, Le Chateau, Fairweathers, an arcade and a cinema, etc.. Good days.

At the beginning of this video you are looking down towards the CNE entrance near an "Arch Structure". At first glance I saw that Arch in the background and wondered when you got to St. Louis. :) Also, thank you for the "mention" at the end of this one. To be honest, I usually spend several minutes including edits to make sure those comments are just right. When I send them to you on your videos, I want to make sure I am on my "A-Game", because you always come off as so educated and sincere. I want them to be just perfect for you because of how much your channel means to me.
You’re right. They’re terrible. Not all of Canada though. But this is what all of Ontario and Quebec’s suburbs look like for sure. I think BC has some decent suburbs though.
@@JB0i They’re extremley bland, the urban planning for Canadian suburbs is terrible and with the way they design suburban neighbourhoods to make it “unsafe” for pedestrains and those who don’t have a car. It’s one of the reasons why I don’t go to Durham Region because their suburbs are terrible and their road infastructure is so bad.
@@AlexGetsAroundTO yeah. North America is like that in general, and European suburbs are infinitely better. Thin roads, no noise, it’s green and in nature, and not NEARLY as many cars, allowing more transit.
@@JB0i Not Just Bikes, an urbanist from Ontario has been living in Amsterdam for years now. You should see how they live, play and work in the suburbs compared to us.
I know so many of your regular subscribers (me included) watch you daily to be entertained and because we feel like you are a friend but for the random "RU-vid" viewer searching for much needed information about getting back and forth on the TTC Subway Line 1 route in the Finch W/Vaughan area, well than you become invaluable.
I usually call it Vaughan Centre when I do anything in that area or whenever I go to somewhere like Canada's Wonderland (20 or 320 northbound bus to Norwood Drive) or Vaughan Mills
