I wonder why the engineers went to so much trouble to complicate such a system with a torsion bar.... a shock absorber plus a spring would have sufficed
There are aplications where a torsion bar is more suitable for a certain vehicle. For example in formula cars they use torsion bars. Some trucks also use torsion bars
These are way simpler than a shock absorber+ spring to design and engineer. They are also pretty much no maintenance. TLDR You don't quite know what you're talking about. ~An engineer.
I have a 2013 Ford F-150 fx4 eco post and wanted to get the 4.5 in lift kit from super lift but was wondering would coilover fit in the future for the front or back and what size.
Does this lift allow you to use your factory Ford 20"s wheels? I know you can cram 35's on a leveling kit no problem, but with Lift kits I'm getting a lot of conflicting information about whether you can use you factory 20"s wheels or not, or whether you have to get aftermarket wheels.
I had my stock 20s on my 4 inch zone for about a week until my new ones arrived had no problems, I believe if your tire is too wide it might rub on the inside components.
I bought a 2018 wrangler JK sport s 2 door with a superlift 2" or 2.5 coil and shock lift only, curious if you have a PKG to complete the lift or if I need to just buy a complete lift and start over
I am more familiar with historical armoured vehicles than modern cars and trucks, but surly the sheering force at either end of the bar must be enormous.
