Hey man im starting again after 1 year + without playing. Since Saki is on the permanent banner i decided to reroll and start from scratch. Do you have some tips on how to start strong? I would like to play tank in the near future obviously 😊
Um, if your just starting/ coming back, with fresh account. I would say ye, try and get Saki, now that she is in standard banner. (She will help allot with Agro pull and general Team helping at higher stars) After that, you have both Meryl and Huma in standard who can be your second Tank in your team, then use any healer you can get for the 3rd in your team. (Coco or zero) Save any Red pulls, for the re-runs of Mimi and Lan (I think you just missed Lans re-run and Mimi just finished her release banner ><) These will be your strong Special Banner characters later on. Other than this, its just choosing what element you want to main, As currently we have Fire, Ice and Volt comps for Tanks, which all have their own benefits and draw backs. Ice Tank been the friendliest to F2P and new players, Then Fire been kinda friendly for F2P and Volt being kinda P2W Tank/ DPS tank.
I completely forgot to show my weapon stars and matric I used for this >< I will try and do another video at some point and will make sure to show this. For those that would like to know, my matric are: (Nemesis has -> 2x Nem matric both 0* & 2x fenrir one 0* other 1*) (Lan has -> 2x Rubilia both 0* & 2x Tian Lang both 0*) (Mimi has -> 2x Mimi both 0* & 2x Scylla both 1*) my weapon stars themselves are: Mimi is 5* Nemesis is 6* Lan is 4* My Sim Trait was on Fiona as its the only trait I have that at 4000 atm that gives 18% final damage. In group play, I normally use Lan Trait to give everyone in my party a Final damage buff.
Question. The newer characters don’t intersect me gameplay wise I like to use saki huma and zero ss tank can I still perform well in a end game setup with these characters?
Too an extent yes. That build works fine, the only part of end game you might struggling with is holding agro against whales. The main part though is, just play what you think is fun and if your f2p or new to the game, get what you want. there isn't too much of a "meta" for tanks, just different builds which either make yourself tankier, more agro or help out the party more. (as long as you can stay alive and take agro, you are doin great as a tank ^ ^)
Just gonna explain why I chose the weapons I did for this Raid. I chose Huma and Lan, with Shiro (ofc Shiro, for the shatter ^ ^) Lan allows all my skills to have aggro on them. This is soo I can keep aggro off anyone who does damage. Like at start of the raid, the Icarus healer will do 8% damage. I will use Huma skill and Lan skill at start, to make sure I hold aggro from this damage. Then whilst i'm kiting the boss around the map, Huma allows me to stack damage reduction, keeping to boss in one place. great for letting the team been chillin ^ ^. also because its two Flame weapons, I get Flame resonance, giving me more Flame Resistance. Ow and grapple is really good for reducing damage and building charge in this raid and tanking in general :3
then level up, grind some better gear ^ ^ is all I can say. learning bosses attacks also helps allot when fighting them, to avoid any big hitting attacks.

Depends if you want to be a brick wall tank or a support ish tank. I personally would use Saki, Icarus, Lan. but this needs high amounts of resistance to work well. you could try Lan, Fiona, Saki. but you'd be loosing out on element resonance. (basically, you wana try having Lan and Saki for now in your group, as they will help with Agro.) remembering that mimi will be coming soon, like 2 weeks.
saki as tank, her 1 skill will heal a % of HP, same with Icarus 1 skill, also heals a % of HP. (saki 1 skill, you shouldn't be holding down for the block, you just tap it, to get the heals are skill use. Then Icarus, whilst your spamming his skill, you will gain a small bit of health each time) as long as your shielding blocks long enough whilst you skill spam, you should gain HP quicker than boss can hurt your shields.
Huma and Saki are fine for tank, if you have meryl aswell, that used to be one of my old setups. the only problem I found with it, was holding agro would be a pain, when you have a whale dps in the ground. This is why Lan is kinda of a must have, for a tank that doesn't do too much damage.
Icarus for tanks, gives the player a block shield equivalent to the total sum of your resistance. This is activated on ever 1 skills he uses and can stack three times. Because I play a high resistance build, this shield is massive. Though, Icarus only works in a tank build because of both saki and lan. Saki let's his skill spam reset all skills very quickly and lan let's his skill spam have agro on them. So it's a very high defence build with allot of agro.
You can try going for this build but would have to wait a while on ps5 for these characters to come out. Also idk how ezy Icarus rotation is on a console controller
You should try and get gear with high flat resistance rolls, with at least one or two other resistance types on it as well. You can try rolling for a little bit of attack, but once you have characters which have allot of agro skills (lan) you won't need attack.
with the current characters Saki & Lan are the main ones to get atm. after that its just which ever support you wanna run. ( a good idea would be to save your Red Summons and wait for mimi to come out in couple weeks. she will carry tanks hard)
With mimi I have a few builds I wana test out Mimi/ Saki/ Yu Lan Mimi/ Saki/ Coco Mimi/ Lan/ Nem Mimi/ Lan/ Crow Yu Lan isn't really meant for Tank team. Mimi will be great, just depending on what buffers you want with Mimi at that point. (My Fionna is only A0 and every time I've used her in a Tank build it just feels weird. I might try her in a Mimi build but loosing the element resonance seams like a big loss)
Her Discharge? as in the healing from it, or the extra stack of resistance? if its the resistance its honestly not worth xD its such a small amount it gives its trash. and the animation time is oofs >< I guess for supporting your group she is kinda ok for tanks, but again, you loose the resonance buff, which is a bigg loss in dps+resistance.
Back during first few weeks of release, I used to play Huma, Meryl, coco. this worked great as a starting team for a tank. I'd advise trying to get the 2.0 and 3.0 tank characters later on if you can (Saki, Lan, mimi) As for Bygone content, I think with my pure resistance build setup I was able to reach Floor 415. I'm able to push to Floor 445 now, as i've got a low end DPS gear with not the best rolls. So if your really wanting to do bygone, just start a DPS gear set, but if your really wanting to be a tank, don't focus too hard on it.
Hi! Im new to the game and wanted to know if i could be a solid tank as a f2p. I've heard the powercreep in tof is too big..can i go through the content (solo and coop) with permanent char like Huma or Meryl?
If I remember correctly, saki is to be introduced into the standard banner and she's an amazing tank unit (especially if you get her advancements) so for now using a combo of like saki/Meryl would for sure work well!
AppData\Local\Hotta\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor file called GameUserSettings. edit in there, you can change FPS limit. (I only did this cus my monitor is at 150hz. this will put more stress on your GPU though, so don't go too high)
As a tank main, which 3rd weapon to choose? I already have saki A6 + Lan A1.Does icarus is still good? Yulan soon will enter the Global soo.. Which is better compared to them?
Honestly, unless I see gameplay or use Yulan myself, I have no idea how well she will play out in a tank build. Saki, Lan, Icarus is still the optimal tank build atm in my opinion. I will try my hardest to pull Yulan when she comes out.
here is the long answer from one of my crew members: She offers nothing to the team or tanking You're better off running Lan Saki Coco still Bc you apply the fortitude weakness point plus buff with Coco Once Mimi comes along You'll get to pick Lan Mimi or Lan Saki or Saki Mimi Last slot has to be buffer otherwise what is point of a tank just bring another support ( I only play Icarus Tank because I enjoy been a wall, but ye if you want to be a tank who buffs/ supports the team. what they said is the best option.
Since Yulan is to be released soon I'd love to see the same as well. I'm running a5saki/a1lan/a6coco but I'd love to finally try something else other than Coco and Yulan looked like she could maybe take that spot.

it depends on the element you want to main really, as tank can either go Fire or Ice atm (with the weapons with habe atm) You already have Lan, so Huma can be a good combo with her for a fire build. I normally though highly recommend Saki for tanks, because of the high shatter and consistent aggro. If you are new to the game though and like you said have Lan. I could try and get Huma then maybe Liu Huo. She is great unit for damage and pared with Huma and Lan, would work well as a heavy hitting tank. (I can't really tell you how to or what you should be playing, but hope this is good enough advice)
Innars, first level (top of ocean) the building area at the bottom right, of the map. If you get the teleporter there, the boss is in a bubble above it.
You can change the settings in the games folder/ files. On your search bar, look up %appdata% then go to files: appdata/Local/Hotta/Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor then open GameUserSettings.ini in a word editor. find the line which says: fFightCameraDistance change this to what ever number you want and save. this will change your camera distance when you enter battle. (This is perfectly fine to edit and I've asked a dev if its allow and it is. you won't get banned or anything from editing this file) (also you can see I changed my Frame Rate Limit to be higher than the in-game limit. which is also doable through that file)
u mean, just the world boss at lv90? or the raid one. as ye the raid one is stupid to solo. only way to do it is with fire build, range attacks. that way you don't get the weird de-buffs Eva puts on you, in the raid version.
thanks :3 he defiantly works great in tank team, because he has aggro, shielding and skill spamming. does make things little hard, worrying about good rotation and tanking xD but is still fun to play.

I like your video. Nobody talk about tanking. Actually I use Saki A5 with Scylla Matrices, Lan A3 with 2 Lan + 2 Shiro (sometimes 4 Haboella) and Coco A6 with 4 Coco or Lin A3 with 4 Saki I would like to replace the 3rd place for Fiona, is usefull for tanking or Saki/Meryl/Lyra is better?
um, honestly its up to you which characters you wana play and because how quickly we get new characters, builds will change too. I only mentioned Saki, meryl, lyra because thats been my strongest tank build for a long time. Since I got Icarus though, I've switched to Icarus, Saki, Lan (which u've seen in newer video) its an easier team to hold aggro with. Its more about, what do you need from your tank build. do you need more Aggro? do you need more healing or shielding? your current Saki, Lan, Coco is what I was using before I got Icarus (after I benched Lyra and Meryl) Lan will help with aggro and Coco is great sustain. As for Fiona, I haven't looked too much at her, I take it you would want Saki, Lan, Fiona? which does sound good, only problem is you won't get the skill reset from Saki ice resonance.
A technique allot of people use is, when your on a wall/ cliff. press ctrl to drop but then quickly double jump, then press W straight after. This will make you climb up without using stamina. you can repeat this action as much as you like. its hard to get the rythme and you need to do it quickly. Or you can use the grapple arm relic, is the less technique way of climbing.
