According to whomever did the titles, DEGARMO is TE GRAMO. No issue, he's fabulous whatever he's called. And Scott, Michael and Eddie are all amazing, too. Let's not forget Geoff, of course. I realize no one ever forgets about him, but I had to write his name for the hell of it.
this is purple patch era Queensrŷche, firing on all cylinders... Rockenfield doesn't get enough love... superlative player. when DeGarmo exited, the writing was on the wall. at least we have this legacy
saw them a couple times, once in Irvine ---- warming up for forget who --- frankly I was disappointed that the power of the records wasn't coming through --- it wasn't terrible -- i've always been always a huge fan --- i think they really shined in the studio and the writing and they were brave, original and thought provoking --- they were great and went a long way because of it ----- thay had a few things working against them IMO --- 1. the vocals are so high level that performing a whole set on point was difficult . 2. they followed the trend of hair metal jumping around on stage where there was no need ---- their music was so badd-ass they should have done more of a stand and deliver --- no fruity costumes --- just belt it out --- and throw in more drama between instead of tate talking --- i mean interludes and improvisations ---- etc. 3. the public stereotyped them rather than really just listening ---- they were looked at as a "heavy metal" band --- actually they started as as like some kind of modern gothic opera --- their music was was so unique it was in a class of it's own from the beginning.
Yawn. Not terrible?? Thanks for passing that tidbit of real love of the band slip through. I've seen them 15 times over the years starting in 1983, and hung out with them until Geoff left. Miss the guys, and their shows, badly.
Charlie is awesome. But, he let the end of melodic lines slip. And, I have to wonder if this influenced DT to drop him after a series of concerts. I wished that someone would have said, "Charlie, you are losing energy at the end of lines, if you keep that energy up and hit the notes, you keep your position as singer for an incredible run."
Here I thought I discovered Take Hold of the Flame as an exceptional song. Looks like I'm both late to the party and one of millions who think this. hehe.
Awesome band the best of all time for progressive rock music. Kicked ass I’ve been a fan since the very beginning. I just saw them a couple months ago going to see them on 8/31/24 in Connecticut. I wish it was Geoff singing but Todd does a good job.
they should open with something from the EP --- the mix is good --- you can hear the bass really well --- they had some balsy lyrics but they were just cryptic enough ......
Wow...anyone catch portney imitating joey slamming the inside of his wrist to his temple ... that was so cool of him to do Joey's long time move right to his face mid song ..2:15 point of video
