This video contains the UN Climate Change disclaimer. Global warming was officially stated at 1.1°C in 1991 and 1.06°C in 2022. There is no mechanism that would allow greenhouse gas behavior to cause global warming. The back of the United Nation's IPCC science report states it took its greenhouse gas samples at 20,000 meters altitude where it is common high school level knowledge there is no greenhouse radiant energy. This is typical practice for deceptive marketing to state legal data transparency protecting the perpetrators from fraud prosecution. Earth's greenhouse effect is frequently used as a primary example to high school students of a system always in saturation from the strong greenhouse gas water vapor absorbing all the greenhouse radiant energy from the earth with greenhouse gases within 20 meters of the surface that is all around us everyday and can't have its overall effect changed. There is no further greenhouse radiant energy to interact with greenhouse gases. At 1% average tropospheric water vapor over 99% of earth’s greenhouse effect is from water vapor. Water vapor would hold earth's greenhouse effect in saturation if it were the only greenhouse gas in the atmosphere. Arctic warming is taking place with the proving mechanism being warm Atlantic Ocean waters migrating deeper and more frequently into the Arctic Ocean warming it and the region. That warmer water is causing a few weeks less of reflective snow and ice coverage resulting in more solar heat gain to the Arctic region surface. Atmospheric CO2 levels of 1200 ppm about three times what they are today would greatly invigorate C3 plants the majority of plant life on earth greatly greening the planet. 0.4% of the atmosphere is CO2 and on average 1% is H20 water vapor. (1% H20)/(0.4% CO2) = 25. Water vapor is 25 times more present in the atmosphere on average than CO2. Water vapor has an CO2e of 18, 18 X 25 = 450 CO2e total for water vapor to 1 CO2e for CO2. The Earth’s oceans have 3-1/2 million sea floor volcanic vents warming the water and changing it’s chemistry that have not been systematically accounted for.

Great Knowledge Share!!New to the field, and excited to create an ESG value proposition for our clients through our portfolio of energy 🔋 efficiency solutions. As Im tasked to build partnerships With companies in the C&I space, would love to learn how to leverage your ESG inventory tools as part of our value.
Thank you both for an interesting conversation. Mr. Oatley, thank you for sharing that collecting data and reporting on Scope 3 emissions goes beyond some numbers but it is a valuable opportunity to engage with the partners in the supply chain to grow together and supporting each other to become more sustainable leading to cost saving and efficiency benefits. Enjoyed listening to both of you from afar.
🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:27 📈 Understanding your carbon footprint is critical for businesses to take climate action 01:37 💡 A good starting point is calculating Scope 1 and 2 emissions (direct and energy indirect) 02:48 🌍 Most business emissions are Scope 3 (value chain indirect) 04:14 📢 Importance of transparency in sustainability reporting 06:08 💨 CO2e rolls up all greenhouse gases into a common unit of measure 10:34 🚗 Employee commuting often significant contributor to emissions 14:30 🛠 Online tools can estimate emissions when data unavailable 31:39 🎓 Sustainability platforms aim to make carbon accounting accessible Made with HARPA AI
I follow you on YT as a person wanting to learn more about sustainability. And I am glad I found you here. I am still "confused" about upstream and downstream - my bad - but overall, thank you for an excellent presentation and explanation.
I would say it is a well organized and well presented webinar. Easy to understand the content. I would like to know more on how any professional or I can switch careers into this ESG or Carbon footprints things. Where to begin with?
Can I say that Scope 1 is operation of own boiler, own power consumption? Scope 2 is cooling, heating? Scope 3 is business travel, purchases goods and services, investments, vehicles in a fleet, and leased buildings/ outsourced logisitics?
Thank you, Sustain Life, for this very informative and professional webinar, actually just saying thank you is not enough. I got so much a better understanding of CSRD and ESRS in one hour, highly appreciated.
Great video Alyssa! There is so much hypocrisy in a lot of what we do. Showcasing it in an extreme example like burning man is fantastic. I think a lot of people just don't give it much thought...let alone if they want or care to know. As more and more education is available around sustainability I hope people become more conscious of it. Every itty bit counts!
For me Brining Man is like the Peace Corp. Sounds great, something I wanted to get involved in and then upon actual examination of the institution(s) realized that the actual premise is impossible and therefore inherently hypocritical, imho. However if you partake in either fine by me, just not my thing.
