Hi. Im interested in how to purify ethanol og denaturing agents. For me it Doesn’t have to be 100 percent pure . Can you please give me some advice? Thanks
Why didn't you perform fractional distillation? The difference between boiling points of dichloromethane and chlorobenzene is enough for it. Good synthesis!
Does this method leave corrosive compounds to the end product, if using the end product as fuel in compustion engine? Is the copper sulfate re-usable after the process (separate the water from copper sulfate)?
Seriously I'm in my Junior year of my BS, taken 3 quarters of OChem (currently in 4th of 5), and this is more serious lab work than they've ever had us do! Amazing!!!
this video attracts me more because your voice sounds like little kid, I find it interesting >< and thank you for explaining all the whys when doing all the procedures!
Hi! How would you calculate the theoretical yield of the ethyl acetate produced? At 2:48 the video claimed that the theoretical yield is 50.108ml of Ethyl Acetate. How was that found?
I do it without a fume hood all the time, it condenses very easily, no smell at all, and even if it leaked, toxicity is very low. As for fire risks, I think you'd need to be extremely unlucky to manage to create an ethanol / air explosive mixture...
This kid can't know all this stuff. I believe one or more of his parents is a chemist and told him what to say. I doubt he can even buy concentrated sulfuric acid at his age. I wouldn't have any idea at his age what a mole was or how to calculate molar weights for various substances. And, then he knows what equipment to use and how to set it up. This glassware is pretty expensive. Where did he get the money to buy it?
