One week ago I finally got dentures, one half years ago had all my teeth removed, to help with heart problems and to alleviate some pain. I don't like the way pain medicine has changed the license too many people and i just don't like how they make me feel, the bottom teeth have not been too terribly bad no allegiance couple of sore spots. But the top teeth have given me 3/4 inch long lesions on both sides cutting my cheek, im hopping in one more week the dentist can trim the uppers to alleviate some of the pain they're causing.

I hate my dentures and I regret my decision to get all my teeth pulled even tho my teeth were falling apart and I had infection after infection. I used as pen Dental and I now know that they treated me like trap from the moment I sat in the chair with the oral surgeon, who was so rude to me. I am very afraid of Dentist because of a really bad experience when I was in my 20's. I asked them about full implants and was scheduled to see the surgeon to see if I was a candidate only to find out he hadn't shown up that day and they didn't know when they would have one back in. They referred me to another one that I had to pay an additional 300$ to. Then after seeing him, he wanted 20,000$ just to place the post and that would have been additional to the 10,000$+ I had already paid to Aspen so that was not an option for me. I can't eat at all with my dentures in, I have a pretty significant over bite and I always feel like I am gagging when I put them in because the top one takes up so much space in my mouth. I am literally so embarrassed over them that I haven't attended any of my or my husbands family functions in almost 3 years and my grandchildrens functions too. I am really at a breaking point with these things and I don't really do anything anymore. Most people (myself included) can't afford to pay for either these days. Do you have any advice for me that may help me?
Unfortunately that would not work very well. Dentures rely on suction and much like a suction cup if you cut out a piece of it all the suction will be lost. This is why we go for implants in so many cases. Great question and thanks for watching!
@@jaximplantsdentures9886 in heard so many worse things about inplants one it destroys the bone that is left by cracking the bone , a second after 10 years the scrow that is placed into jaw needs to be replaced for the inplants get lose , an then in fifteen the teeth need to be replaced as well

I traveled to jax from Pensacola florida. I choose jax becase all on 4 is what they do every day and their pricing was up front.I was impressed with the virtual consultation, and dealings with the staff. as far as appointment times and knowing what to expect.plus the price quoted was great. The staff at Jax could not be better, I was treated like I was their most important patient. But if I had to do it over I would take the time to go there for a personnel consultation. Because instead of all on 4 I wound up with all on 6 and titanium bar type prosthesis and significantly more money. I never meant the surgeon who placed the implants or explained the extra 2 implants. I still believe I choose correctly and all will turn out well. Just wish I had done a more thorough consultation so there would have been no surprises.
Hi Jim. This is Dr. McRee here. I was the one who performed your surgery. I personally apologize for you not meeting me before the day of surgery. I actually met you the day of before we got going but the amnesia effect of the sedation must have already kicked in so you don't remember. As for the 6 vs 4 that is a good question. We always do between 4 and 6 and I will give as many as the bone will allow to make sure what we do is a well built as possible. We also recommend the titanium bar version (Dreamline titanium) for a few reasons whether it be larger sinuses that require the placement of pterygoid implants to reduce cantilever or for someone that lives far away we try so we recommend the absolute strongest option possible. I would like to see close up details of the implant dentures . I have implant dentures that are thick and awkward, and am planning on getting them replaced. I have 3 lower implants, and 5 upper implants. I would like to have another lower implant if possible, plus thinner upper and lower dentures. The ones I have now are almost useless to chew with.

I just got my all-on-4 procedure in Sherman Oaks, CA a week ago, and I might’ve been doing it wrong for the past week. I used the waterpik ion every other day on a high pressure setting since day one, as well as brushing the teeth and brushing the gums around the implant, but did gargle chlorhexidine oral rinse they prescribed to me, as well as took ibuprofen and amoxicillin. A week later, it’s still sore, irritating and gums are still tender and sensitive to cold. Should I be concerned? I’m not in so much pain and agony and am able to sleep at night with my temporary. I still have yet to get bottom side implants, but my next appointment is on May 9th.
@@eternus154 Hi! In our office we typically don't recommend using the waterpik until two weeks post surgery due to the gums healing. However, without knowing exactly how your treatment was done or what their protocol is I would recommend giving your office where the surgery was performed a call!

Great question! We can certainly do that as well and have done so on many occasions but we feel it's not the best for most people due mainly to tissue shrinkage and the gap that will form over the first few months if you go straight to a final. However if any patient would like that we can easily do it and will do a permanent final zirconia immediately as long as they know the risks associated. Thank you for watching! If a molar were to break that would be an extremely rare occurrence. In our facility we would be able to make a new one within a few days and you would also be able to use your existing teeth if the break were just one tooth. If something more severe were to break we could definitely get you something even faster if that were an issue. So basically should never be without teeth! Great question!
Does your office work with adults with cleft palates? For 15yrs I have been trying to get a dentist to help me so I have lost all hope. It's not severe but it's enough I can't keep dentures in and it's just frustrating because I have been a guinea pig my whole life for the cleft palate community to help aide in ensuring kids who are born with a cleft palate/lip do not have to endure the pain, suffering, and lack of knowledge when it comes to early intervention. When I had my surgeries veneers were not even a thing yet so implants or snap ins were surely not an option offered to me.

For me personally and I bet many others, financial fear keeps me from going to Jax in florida to have my mouth fixed. Like, will I be approved for financial assistance? Can I afford this right now? etc... I think I need someone to hold my hand through the financial part and work with me as much as possible in my home state before I head down for the procedure.

You both seem to really care. I want to ask, do you do zirconia implants? Not the tooth part but the actual implant is made of zirconia. I am allergic to most metals, and those I am not allergic to- if I am exposed to it for a prolonged time I develop an allergy to and start getting sick. My body is weird and I can only use natural products in my life, and I would love the one that will allow me to eat raw vegetables again and snack on carrots not eat soft full of carbs foods as I am forced to eat now.
