Bear spray is hardly the right tool. More liberal propaganda. If you wanna defend your life in the grizz woods, you carry a firearm with a worthy caliber.
Look at the riparian buffer in the upper Big Hole, both the healthy and the unhealthy. Ultimately you will find cattle with direct access to the stream have multiple deleterious effects. The bigger challenge will be doing something about it.
This is really cool. Is there a specific person I could reach out to from Montana FWP if I wanted to research for photographing a dusky grouse mating display next spring?
No longer live in MT but liking and subscribing for the beautiful nature of the state! Used to visit the Lewis and Clark Caverns every year on mothers day for YEARS!! Thank you for the work you do!
Too fast and too high for the drop, if the fish don't live what good have you done. Low and slow is the name of the game, especially when you're in the helicopter.
Excellent work by FWP and Wyoming G&F to try to get the bears delisted. Hopefully, that will happen quickly, as in this part of Wyoming, bears are everywhere and have long met population goals.
Way too much government involvement... their(grizzlies) are similar to American Indians.... we're keeping both on a reservations. Sad. Wonder what Lewis and Clark would say if they saw the west now.....
3 states introduced wolves. All 3 states experienced declines in elk populations Where The Wolves Were Released. 2 states have enough data to aggressively manage wolf populations. 1 state is still "collecting data".
The Elk (Cervus canadensis), also known as the wapiti is a large deer species native to North America and Eastern Asia, it is the largest of the six extant deer species constituting the genus Cervus and the second largest deer species alive today, with only the Moose (Alces alces) being larger, the closest living relative of the elk is the Hangul (Cervus hanglu) that resides in Central Asia, there are fifteen known subspecies of elk: the Tibetan Elk (Cervus canadensis wallichii), the Kansu Elk (Cervus canadensis kansuensis), the Sichuan Elk (Cervus canadensis macneilli), the Mongolian Elk (Cervus canadensis mongoliensis), the Alashan Elk (Cervus canadensis alashanicus), the Tian Shan Elk (Cervus canadensis songaricus), the Manchurian Elk (Cervus canadensis xanthopygus), the †Korean Elk (Cervus canadensis coreanus), the Siberian Elk (Cervus canadensis sibiricus), the Roosevelt Elk (Cervus canadensis roosevelti), the Rocky Mountain Elk (Cervus canadensis nelsoni), the Tule Elk (Cervus canadensis nannodes), the †Merriam's Elk (Cervus canadensis merriami), the Manitoba Elk (Cervus canadensis manitobensis), and the †Algonquin Elk (Cervus canadensis canadensis).
one has berries the others has a bell and smells like pepper that's how you tell their droppings apart, black bears eat berries grizzlies eat campers carrying bells and bear spray
Please delist the grizzly. We are tired of people getting killed. There are plenty of bears to maintain a good healthy population. We have at least 50 here in N. Idaho and 2000 in the western states.
I’d love to do this when I get out of the military, especially cuz I’m from the exact area. The beauty of the nature is unparalleled to everywhere I’ve been ❤ this would be a dream come true to serve my community back home ❤️
Just curious. How do you go about catching an elk calf in order to put a radio collar on it? Maybe your Department could make a short video about this. I just found this channel recently and you have some very interesting videos here. Thanks for making them and posting them!
We are glad that you find the videos interesting! The upcoming episode of field trips will cover elk calf captures. Thanks for following, and stay tuned!
This has officially turned public lands into private lands, and the Montana Legislation should be ashamed! If you have to pay, it isn't public. We already pay for this with taxes and license plate fees. How about charge renters a special tax so they can contribute thier fair share? Or you know how yall DESTROYED The Old Shooting Range Trailhead? Yea, the people who you've destroyed it for can foot the bill. People who pay taxes from their paychecks, property taxes, the special fee on their license plates, and pay camping fees should not be the ones to pay even more to keep yall afloat. Charge out of staters to bring their RVs into the state, because wherever they stop those things is camping.
Did I just read that those who applied in the 2024 draw and picked up a preference point while doing so but didn’t draw can buy a second point between July and the 2024 season? If that’s the case I assume they also can buy a 3rd point at application time for the 2025 season? So one who applies with 1 point in 2024 could potentially apply with 3 in 2025? Maybe that’s just those using a guide? Thanks
