I found the same hose loose on my 2012 wrangler Sahara.. what is it?
@hodlmair
@hodlmair 7 месяцев назад
It is a simple hose that helps vent the transmission. I was able to locate where to attach it to do a simple repair and connect it back to the transmission but it has been a long time since I had that vehicle and can't recall the exact spot. I have a 2016 Jeep Willy's and a 2023 Jeep Sahara 4XE. Not the same engine configuration so I'm not much help on this.

So what's the argument? What difference does it make whether the runner was out on the first bad tag attempt, called out for heading to the dugout, or called out at first base on the throw? They still only get one out. If there was 1 out when the ball was put into play on the dropped third, then its two out on the runner, regardless of where the out occurred. They don't get 2 outs on him. So the run from third scores, game over. I don't get the issue here. The defense could have held the ball at home and kept the run from scoring (probably the wiser play with the game on the line), they didn't.
@michaelmack9376
@michaelmack9376 2 года назад
I see people talking about interference. There's no interference here. Running lane doesn't matter because he didn't interfere with the 1st baseman taking the throw (first baseman receives the throw just fine, then fumbles it). He's not out of the baseline to avoid a tag, and even if he was, that's still just one out and not a dead ball. This was a bonehead move by the defense multiple times over. Winning run at third, catcher drops the ball (error #1), then muffs the tag on the runner (error #2), then elects to go after the runner instead of protecting the plate (error #3), then the first baseman fumbles the ball at first (error #4).

The reply by Garrett Carter about a year ago is correct. The tube actually connects inside the engine to the top of the bell housing. You can access this under your hood. I will post a follow up video if you think that it would be helpful to see exactly where I am referring to. Just let me know!

@rentalbiscuit8508
@rentalbiscuit8508 8 лет назад
+Jose Aguilar it's the transfer case breather hose, that runs along the transmission, and the end is bolted into a little bracket at the top of the bellhousing.
@rentalbiscuit8508
@rentalbiscuit8508 8 лет назад
+Jose Aguilar so either the little bracket holding the hose has broken, or the bolt holding the bracket has fallen out of the bellhousing. if the bolt is missing that could be a quite serious problem because you don't want your transmission falling off, but if its only the little bracket is missing just try and cable tie it up and out of the way. you don't want the end of that hose to go underwater and you also don't want the hose too close to the exhaust. the purpose of this hose is to vent air in and out of the transfer case so when the t-case heats up it doesn't build up internal pressure reducing the risk of blowing a seal.

Ok, I'll end the speculation. The lady in the picture is my wife (she looks way better than that!). My name is Rick and I was Bill Dotter's partner in the Red Lion. We were indeed pilots at Ozark Air Lines at the time. I also had a tiny bit of "sweat equity" in her. There is a terrific team building boats at the Nimphius yard. The Lion was launched on a blustery day, in March of '84, at Sheboygan. We sailed her for the next two years, on Michigan, mostly from the Corinthian Yacht Club. Our intent was to utilize her for corporate special events and public relations. To make a very long story short, special events promotion was in its infancy and despite several successes, the Miller draft beer commercial, the made for TV special "Roanoke" and our own "Red Lion Sail for Freedom", that raised funds for the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island restoration, in late '86, we were a bit too early in the quest for corporate sponsorship. We decided to get the ship into warmer waters for the winter, which, retrospectively, was an enormous mistake, as the great folks at the Circle Line allowed us dock space right next to the Intrepid in New York. The promises made by individuals in Ft. Lauderdale, to keep the vessel busy with charter work, never materialized. She ended up in a yard in Flagler Beach, under wraps, as we scrambled to find sponsorship. There, she was ultimately broken up with no notice. Litigation thereafter, would have been prohibitively expensive. And so ended the voyage of the Red Lion, once surveyed at $1.2 million. There is more to the story but my typing skills are now overly taxed!

Without knowing which you league this is, the batter could have been declared out for "abandoning his attempt" to go to first base...there was clearly more than one step out of the batter's box. The ball would have stayed live with a definite 'batter is out" call. In the absence of that, the rest of the play is judgment. B1 was good going down the line initially, got confused, and ran to the inside of the line the second time. That is interference--dead ball, B1 is out, runner returns to 3B.
@chris14473
@chris14473 11 лет назад
Next I would have called him out when he turned to run to 1st the second time. He ran the entire way inside the base line thus interfering with the defensive teams ability to make the throw from catcher to 1st. With either call interference or out of the baseline the ball would be dead and the runners on 2nd & 3rd would be returned to their bases. It would then be 2 outs with runners on 2nd & 3rd.
@chris14473
@chris14473 11 лет назад
If there was only 1 out, the batter means nothing to the play. Whether the league has a dropped third strike rule or not. Since the batter only made the second out the run scores. With that all said, dropped 3rd strikes at this level seems to be a bad rule. ]In addition I would have call the batter out for being out of the base line when he moved towards the pitching mound to avoid the tag. He was a goood 5 feet inside the line.
@hodlmair
@hodlmair 11 лет назад
There was only one out so the play at first, technically, is a non-issue since he would have only been the second out in the inning. The ump called the runner out at first if you look at the second and third videos but, for some reason, did not allow the run to score while he was watching the play at first base.
@bigyaz
@bigyaz 11 лет назад
Was he tagged or forced out at first (it's unclear from the video)? If so, it doesn't matter when the runner from third crossed the plate.
@rickaboltful
@rickaboltful 11 лет назад
Great explanation on the setup. An uncaught 3rd strike is a live ball until the batter-runner is retired. I don't know the rules for this league (Little League, AAU, OBR rules), but I will go out on a limb here and say that this is still a live ball, even though the BR takes a step or two to the dugout. Clearly, the catcher tags him with an empty gloves, but what is more interesting, is that the 1st baseman looooooooks like he tags him on the leg with the ball - inning over. If no tag, game over
@CV1989Colt
@CV1989Colt 6 лет назад
Little League there is no uncaught 3rd strike until Majors level. These kids are not Majors age. So this is not Little League. At the age of these kids, I would guess this is a travel baseball game. House leagues generally do not have leading off or uncaught 3rd strikes at the age of these kids. The first baseman gets the tag on the batter for the 2nd out. No other out is made, run scores. Game over.

The history is pretty close. The name 'Christine-Margaret' was actually the name of Doug Turnbull's (boat architect) mother and daughter. The name was changed by Jerry Hodlmair when he purchased Doug's interest in the vessel. Unfortunately, Doug came down with terminal cancer and died shortly after the boat was launched.

You will love the people of Mexico. They are hard working and a very honest people. The TAPATIOS, as people from Guadalajara are called, truly are welcoming and will bring you into their home as a friend. From one who has been down that path before, do everything you can to have the companionship of the Lord on your side and the mission will be much more enjoyable. Good luck and Godspeed.
