Guitar Moves is coming back, like this: right now friends are helping me build up a solid-assed Guitar Moves RU-vid channel where all the episodes will officially live. I’m sayin there’s gonna be new episodes on there too. Same editor, the essential Andrew Reuland. Same ding dong host. There will be friends involved making the episodes. They will be good. There will def be some sick merchandise. And other hot action. All on the RU-vid channel. Soon.
Your patience is gonna be appreciated- now it’s me and my friends making Guitar Moves happen, and the motto of my friends Fat Possum (without whom all this wouldn’t be happening) is “We’re trying our best.” And, for what it’s worth, your continued support and enthusiasm for Guitar Moves shows me how positive and powerful making music is, that we can all do it.
Thanks to Neck Face for the sick logo graphics. Thanks to Jesse Pearson for getting this show started in the first place and thanks to Jordan Redael II for seeing what it is.
Never got why these guys graced the world with such ugly dark and down right horrible music and act, man the world is ugly and evil enough even the demons want physical manifestation and look how tired it made these willing fools, make no mistake wicked imagery and bad vibration have been cast out by these folks and it means you more harm than you think
Jim, I'm assuming your teacher was Michael Curry? I never knew he was your teacher, I just thought you were in Atomic Opera with him. He taught me at Ye Olde Guitar Shoppe too when I was around 12 years old. He went through a divorce and was on the phone with his wife. I showed up to my lesson and he pointed to you to give me a lesson. You asked what I liked and I said Megadeth. So you taught me the intro to Tornado of Souls, which had just been released. I think you were the one who taught me about natural harmonics from that song. I remember thinking, damn I wish this guy would be my teacher because I was picking up what you were teaching faster - you also had crazy long hair back then.

This is great! Hope we get some more fret12 playthroughs for the new and even older stuff. Would be a instant purchase. Thanks #4, enjoy it man you guys kill it!!
This is very good. I’m not really a fan of slip not and wasn’t familiar with this guy but I love guitar and most types of rock. Very cool, guy seems really cool and down to earth and a great player. I love hearing how professional musicians got to where they are and what their influences were. Very cool
as a new guitar player it is refreshing to see this approach to making music. It's not overtly complex, rather just a fun time and then next thing you know you've got a song. Ngl, this has given me a different view on jamming with my friends because I tend to be the follower instead of a creator. And this helped change my view of what is 'acceptable' when in reality music is just to have fun
the fast pick on Nero Forte Jim......thats the perfect alternate pick song. Saw Jim and the Band in Camden NJ about a month ago the 25th anniversary tour....very awesome night. Tell his tech to raise the master volume on his and Micks guitars though, they were definitely lower than everyone else.
Totally on board with Jim about being a band person. Writing and producing on your own loses out on that collaborative element that for me is intrinsic in band music. I think i will always call myself a "band guy" even if that is becoming more and more uncommon as of late. Good talk!!!
Jim & Matt are huge inspirations and I hope u guys check out my new EP scheduled to come out on Jim's birthday! vol. II streaming on bandcamp right now. Happy birthday and happy Halloween!
You can mix those 3 note runs with some economy picking and it will greatly speed up your playing. It took me a while to get the hang of it but now I use it to warm up. Its fun to just sit there and run those 3 note scales up and down up and down.
