Hello and Welcome to London Predator Angler... This channel used to be named PREDATORBITESUK. I decided on a New look and name change. I'm a Angler from South East London, England. I Fish for all species, but my main passion and most of my time is spent Angling for Predators like Pike, Zander, Perch, Eels and Wels Catfish. I like Lure Fishing, but prefer Bait Fishing. I hope you enjoy the Videos and Enjoy the channel....
Hi Barry, do you ever use cork dust mixed with pva wood glue, as a filler when the cork gets torn up. It has saved my bacon more than once, the same goes with balsa dust. ✌❤ Bob.
Hi Barry enjoyed your videos, can I just give you a bit of advice, when you sanded the perch bobber down if you save some of the sanded down cork dust you can use it to make repairs to the bodies. Love the lathe I have two lathes a large one and a cheap Chinese one but would love a Proxxon.
Great informative video , but could have done with a light shining on the individual smaller Tackle Boxes - it was difficult to see the contents ( sorry if this seems like a moan 👍🏻 )
Lovely floats, nice work. When I started fishing (65 yrs ago!) all floats had a ring (eye) on the bottom. ‘Double rubber’ was a later way of doing it I think. Safety tips... NEVER, EVER, spin up a lathe with an “empty” chuck. The mechanism can unscrew and the chuck jaws will fly across the room. Good luck dodging them... also, NEVER leave the chuck key (or Tommy bars) in the chuck because if the lathe is started with the key (Tommy bars) in then you will either badly damage your lathe bed (and yours is aluminium, so a soft material) or you’ll be trying to dodge flying metal again. Good work on the floats. Les
Quality vid, mate; Load's of good advice and know - How. Really helped me!..and by the way... your humility, skill and craftmanship are admirable! Good work!
Just watched this video , as a seasoned pike angler I picked up some little tips . Absolutely cracking video. This is how a RU-vid video should be . Excellent job
It's Lovely comments like these that makes all the filming worth it, glad it helped you out someway, we can always pick up tips from others even when we are seasoned... :)
Nice one, thank you Ollie, glad you enjoyed the Video... and thanks for Subscribing, it will be a while before I make another video as explained in my last video I filmed. But I will be back soon! thanks! (p.s. good luck with your own fishing)
Hi, In your video at about 41mins I see you have bags of bodies, Just wondering where you got them from. As been trying to get hold of some and cant find any. Excellent video mate, Cant wait to see some more on float making. Regards Dave
hello dave, thanks for your kind comment. Yeah I got them from Ebay, the seller is called (wilkeskf) I know he hasn't had much stock lately on there, but its easy to turn your own bodies, I use both ones I turned myself or ones I buy from him. good luck Barrie
Thanks for getting back to me Barrie, yes I'm going to have a go at making my own bodies, just waiting for lathe to be delivered. thanks again for your help. Dave
Some videos are so good, you come back to them; time and time again. I have lure fished for years. I had a limited understanding of dead baiting. I remain a novice but I’m learning. This remains my ‘go to video’. If you’re new to this, give it a watch. Great instruction so well delivered.
What a good, no-nonsense video! Great technical info and ususable advice! Thanks for posting! ...and by the way, you can do this with good Avon/Barble rods too!
Well explained, I’m going to try and make a video trace making. Never worked out why people put a swivel on a trace? I just have a loop with swivel on my braid👍
Nice vids , just start watching you ,and you are amazing , i am more a carper , would it be to much to ask where is this pond?so i can join the club or who its looking for it ...sorry if its inappropriate .Tia Keep on the good work and thight lines 🎣
Ive making a few floats. Can i ask how you faded the yellow and black colours on your perch patterned bobbers? I want to learn how to do patterns etc. Love these videos by the way.
Nice one, thank you! its not to hard, I looked at how lure anglers paint there patterns on lures and used some of there ideas and ways in doing this. I used an airbrush set up. you could use spray paint but will be harder with detail on a smaller float like a perch bob unlike a pike float. also I make stencils too for the striping! check out lure makers on youtube and watch some of what they do!
I’m totally new at pike fishing can I ask what that 3 ounce lead is I’m totally new I only carp fish and I need a good dead bait rig to put on my alarms this week
I know it does, I like using shrink tubing, but using sleeves is convenient and it what I had in my tackle box at the time, most trace makers use sleeves... but yes I do like the neat finish shrink tubing does...
Well done mate nice video used to pike fish a lot back in the day mainly carp fish now but I’m fishing a new lake with good pike as well as carp so happy days . Loved the pop up rig always fished mine popped up. Any way good video mate 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Good sound solid advice for the beginner. To be honest a video showing how to unhook these delicate fish and I think beginners will have everything they need to get on the bank. Have enjoyed all of your videos to date. Keep up the good work and tight lines for the winter season 👍
Thanks, I will make a begainners Full Video oneday when I get round to it, or at least a series of videos on begainners fishing for Pike which will include Pike care too! Good Luck also for the season ahead :)
Really nice mate I’m a furniture maker and definitely gonna give it a go. I just bought the lathe same as yours from eBay can’t wait You should try some Devon minnows there cool Also I’m thinking maybe try cutting a grove for the wire on the eye. It’s not a criticism mate your floats are amazing and if I could make some anywhere near as good as yours I’ll be happy!!! Thanks so much for the video totally awesome!
Nice one, good luck with your float making and glad the video helped in some way! :) oh and I do normally cut a grove, I dont think I showed it for some reason! lol
Have you heard of the lasso pike rig? If so do you no how to tie one. Someone told me about it, he caught 5 pike that day with it but im not sure how to tie it.
yes I do, it is something I have used in the past, I might make a video on that soon, I made this 5 years ago for begainners to trace making, but I might revisit it again and make a few traces for Piking in a new video!
