If a man pays a bride price and the marriage crashes, there shouldn’t be a refund of the bride price, because the man can’t give the woman her virginity back. He can’t restore her womb back to what it was before she had children, & he can’t restore her breasts back to their youth before breast feeding. So in essence unless he can restore & make her whole before marriage he shouldn’t be entitled to a refund of the bride price!

I came here because i met a lady on a dating site in Kenya, i talked about it to friends, got some input, people have been very concerned that i met a lady from across the world. The woman in pink has it right. Bride price needs ro be abandoned. So should any kind of effusive "gift" giving b/c it is too easily construed as a bride price. If the groom wants to give a small gift to each parent on the day of the wedding, fine, but it needs to be capped so low that it can't possibly be confused with, or construe as a bride price. The other problem is alcohol consumption. The men who are prone to mistreating and beating their wives usually have a very strong relationship with alcohol. This feature needs to be recognized and appropriately dealt with to get a secure handle on things.
