A newer helpful tip, as this was fixed extremely recently, is that shield backpacks of both varieties now appear on while on an HMG emplacement. This can increase the effective HP of a helldiver even more so than what you’ve already found.
0:55 I'm fairly certain the hmg and other similar armor pen weapons can kill the automaton mortars and aa guns and bunker turrets anywhere, including the barrels. Pretty useful for the mortars, a lot of the time you can see the end of the barrels sticking out over walls and you can kill them from range by shooting those.
@@csaysgrub oh that's a good tip! Thanks for letting us know csaysgrub! Didn't realize it could tank through the front, always thought I saw ricochet when shooting head on, but with my aim, I most likely was hitting them at the base!
@@paulshields3907 hahaha glad someone noticed, the text was really fast, but when I was editing the clips I did have a good chuckle when I saw the cartwheeling bug!
Ah always thought it was kinda weird when a teammate would hop on the HMG and every enemy would swarm me. Also I'm not to sure but I think the impaler dies quicker with leg shots than shooting its tentacles/face this is from what I heard I haven't personally tested this tho. The HMG is definitely amazing after the patch its so good but I'm just not feeling it but I still gotta mess around with it but for now I'm stuck on the bot front using commando with EAT-17 spam😎
@@bobyhill1138 oh great info! Leg shots were mentioned in a couple of threads I was reading through, I neglected to test that, thank you for pointing it out! I love the HMG always a fun time especially if I don't want to run a dedicated support weapon, the HMG is my all around weapon for all situations especially after the Buff! And especially for bots and those pesky gunships... Though yeah it may not be a stratagem for everyone, as you know I love the commando, but I cannot dismiss how amazing the buff on the recoilless rifle.. that thing shreds + it 1 shots hit fabs and can even 1 shot a factory strider... Like wow..
Not been fixed yet? What in the Hell are you talking about? Orbital Precision Strikes aren't guided. They lock onto the initial area where the beacon landed and aim at that. It isn't broken, this is how it's supposed to work.
@@billrich9722 originally the devs said that the beacon was the location of impact, once the shell is launched let's say 3 seconds after call in, the impact will not change, but during those 3 seconds the orbital strike was "supposed" to track the enemies that the beacon was stuck to.. they stated this in the early part of the game like March/April ish time in response to when sticking an enemy like chargers the strike would detonate on the marked location (on the chargers back), but I'm not sure if they dropped the idea or if it was benched for the future.... It was not something I came up with myself but something AH stated previously about the OPS, does that make more sense billrich9722? In AH words: "Stratagem beam might attach itself to an enemy but it will deploy to its original location."
@@twiltzofficialgaming true. The cool downs are still vastly different so there will be a situation where you’d pick one over the other. Can’t complain about having choices.
@@epgamer1145 very true, with a bit of tweaking, or the right additional builds (support weapons/ stratagems uses) it can become a lot stronger, but by itself it's difficult to bring as a main damage dealer..
@@twiltzofficialgaming for sure. Honestly think it’s just meant for lower tier enemies. I’m sure it’s getting a buff tomorrow as of typing this. We’ll see how it pans out
Paired with ”Localization Confusion” Booster it’s CD lines up perfectly with every Botdrop/Bug Breach on Super Helldive. Me and my duo partner both throw one at every enemy reinforcements and it melts them.
In my entire 1100 hours (800 in-game) experience, I have witnessed so many players on command bunker missions fail to throw 380 on radius of objective... While I just throw walking barrage and 99.9% am sure it will blow it up and move on to the next objective on the list. I am always bringing OWB on command bunker missions regardless of my loadout just in spite of bunker turrets consistently hard aim locking on you. Weird that people don't understand from mistakes of stratagem balls WILL drop from your hand once stratagem is activated and you get ragdolled from some stuff. Wasted time and stratagem, wasted SEAF budget :/
@@divineadamenjoyer hahahaha I'm sure SEAF understands that the training period for new recruits is rigourus but fast paced.. But I cannot agree with you more, I love taking the walking barrage over 380 especially when I need to get into a location I will be bombarding. Nothing says patience like waiting for a 380 to finish before you can even get close, but nothing says get out of the way I'm coming through more than the orbital walking barrage.
@@twiltzofficialgaming Hey, btw m8, congrats with new orbital. We got ONB on our hands and I sweated my arse off really hard helping on Tarsh and Mastia.
@@divineadamenjoyer yes congrats 🎉🎉🎉 can't wait to try it out again! Napalm on bugs is going to be a game changer especially with the upcoming fire buffs.
I use the walking pretty regularly against bots. I like the long pattern to sweep across medium/large bases, and to take out detector towers from father away. It also lets the team be more aggressive than they could be with the 380 since you can start moving forward before the barrage is complete. One thing I want to try from your video is using it from a forward flanking position to sweep across the enemy line of advance, I hadn't thought of that before but it sounds legit.
its the shittiest design for a walking barrage. it makes no sense for it to be so inaccurate and move so slowly. its basically near worthless given the alternatives. It should fire fire one shot even half second and be much more accurate with a predictable pattern rather than that random crap that goes off to the side randomly. this shit isn't even indirect fire like real life walking barrages were. its direct fire from directly overhead, it should be pinpoint accurate if arrowhead really cares so much about realism. And it should be three simultaneous and parallel explosions in front, followed by another three a bit more in front. instead they drop one at a time all over the place, just vaguely moving forward.
@@simonphoenix3789 I can agree with you for the most part, if AH was going for realism like they suggest they are, the walking barrage definitely missed its mark.. But that said, I would not say the walking barrage is useless even if it's pattern is a bit chaotic and random... For the most part the decrease in "walking" speed helps to hit more targets in its area of effect, and to some extent I feel that the walking barrage often retraces it's steps and thus hits the same target multiple times with different volleys... I can understand your frustration simonphoenix3789, hopefully you can revisit the walking barrage sometime in the future and see it's potential... Otherwise lmk if you have any more questions or concerns! Hope you have a good day!
How many times did you die when you threw Barrage on your feet and sprinted forward? I'm asking to find out how effective this method is in combat. Since it sounds like a good tactic in itself.
@@Max-id2le it really depends on your armor, when I used light armor in probably had a survival chance of 80%, medium and heavy armor with blast resistance was more towards 60% IF I was swarmed.. You can definitely outrun the barrage most of the time, just sometimes if you get caught by enemies or have bad rng you may be obliterated by a random shell.. over all it's a pretty valid tactic! Great question!
walking barrage seems really weird, it's basically a 380 that just keeps shifting it's center of dispersion, rather than a consistently patterned barrage that covers its path. I'll stick with the 380 if I need the larger version of the 120mm
@@GameFuMaster I can understand why you dislike the walking barrage over the 380, but just know that the walking barrage is better for moving targets while the 380 is better for stationary ones, different stratagems for different enemy types, I hope you'll give the walking a chance in game (use it a couple of times), before shelving it forever. Thanks 🙏
I haven’t been using OWB for like a few months until today. I’ll try to use OWB, thank you for teaching us how to use OWB more effectively. (I use 380mm because I don’t know how does walking barrage works.)
@@kruabo haha my pleasure, ty for taking the time to learn how to use it effectively. It definitely will take some getting used to but Lmk how it goes!
@@twiltzofficialgaming ngl, when I was throwing OWB near (about 30 to 40 meters) a bug breached, I killed 49 bugs and two impalers with 2 or 3 380mm shells(OWB's shell) that we didn't know two impalers came out of bug breached, and they got killed before tentacles.
@@TimothyTinnitus yes! You definitely should try it out and lmk what you think.. Just know that it might take some getting used to for lining up the barrage, make sure you throw it 30 meters in front of enemies or so if you shooting it dead on! Sometimes even farther out could help like for larger targets like the factory strider or depending on terrain! Happy diving!
Hi @Twiltz OFFICIAL Gaming, I'm terrible on the bots front and wanting to find a loadout that works better for me. My playstyle normally tends to be more of a supporting role to the team by clearing mobs with the Arc Thrower and selecting Anti-Tank Strategems like the Eagle 500, Orbital Precision and Eagle Rocket Pods to take care of Bile Titans, Chargers and Impalers. Do you feel the Shield Generator Emplacement combined with an HMG Emplacement and an Autocannon or Rocket Sentry would allow enough protection to deal with the Factory Striders and Gun Ships to support my team in Level 8 or higher? I've tried the Quasar but I miss the ships more often than not and I'm wondering if bringing the Shield Generator would be able to provide enough protection for Sentries or myself if using an HMG Emplacement to target Strider turrets and Gun/Drop ships. I like using the Orbital Precision with a Stun to take care of Hulks, but I think I saw you comment that the HMG Emplacement could take out their legs to immobilize them right?
@@POWER_WAFFLE Hi POWER_WAFFLE First off I love the username. And secondly I'm always happy to help, thanks for reaching out, I'll try my best to give you a good Loadout suggestion, but I want you to know I think the best way is to explore different stratagems yourself to see what feels best to you. The automatons are difficult because of their Lazer accuracy and high damage. For level 8.... If you play a support role I suggest running an AMR/Rail gun (with stun grenades for easy cleanup kills), and a resupply backpack. These two items together are great supporting stratagems not only for yourself, but for your teammates as well... In regards to using the shield generator, yes I think this will work in conjunction with a HMG emplacement (note*) (Yes it can destroy hulk legs), OR using the rocket/auto cannon turret, I prefer using the HMG turret as it has great utility clearing every BOT enemy in the game, and with its large mag size and relatively quick cooldown, it should suffice as the main damage dealer for a build, you can use the HMG without the shield generator if you want to take extra Anti-Tank weaponry. The nice thing about the shield generator is that it's a flexible pick. Such that it can help you and your teammates survive bot rushes as a wall.. or help during environmental hazards like blizzards for example. The additional use of the shield generator is to use it as bait for enemies.. in other words there are a lot of different uses for this stratagem, more than just using it for cover to shoot through... So make sure you use your best judgment. If you want my suggestion with the stratagems you named I would choose Arc thrower, orbital precision, HMG, and a flexible slot pick like commando, or quasar if you want to practice getting better with quasar), or 500kg etc... this build would help in most situations though I'm not sure how well the arc thrower is against the majority of bots... (That's why I named other support weapons) If the reason you feel like you're losing in higher difficulty is because of survivability in terms of map awareness being low, I suggest bringing the shield generator so you can have quick cover on a quick cooldown basis.. But if you feel like you have good map awareness and positioning, but lack the overall means to kill GROUPS of heavily armored enemies that occur on higher difficulties, I would focus on using HMG/Quasar/Commando/EAT/AMR or incorporating larger area stratagems like the walking barrage or 120/380 barrages... Hope I answered your question, sorry it was long, lmk if anything didn't make sense or if you have more questions!
@@twiltzofficialgamingI appreciate you taking the time to respond back! I will try those suggestions this week. I usually only get about an hour to play each night and don't get a ton of time to practice.
Missed that stratagems will bounce off vertical rock faces. Using this, you can throw it behind you, bounce it off a rock towards you, and give yourself extra distance and time between you and your barrage.
@@lockentoni2510 mine was 320 sec... Maybe Im wrong and was constantly in an increased cooldown modifier game... I originally thought it was 240 as well but I'll have to check..
@@twiltzofficialgamingno problem: you said the cooldown is 320 seconds and the text says „3 min 20 seconds“ and this is a big difference (3 min and 20 seconds= 200 seconds and 320 seconds = 5 min 20 seconds
@@lordxerlus3842 The napalm barrage was indeed crazy effective.. I was hoping the 120mm is buffed to have 5 shells per salvos as well.. definitely effective, though I think the walking barrage still is effective due to its large kill zone in a line rather than a circle ⭕, as it allows more customized cover (straight on, sideways, diagonal barrage directions)... I do love how good the orbitals are right now though!
Not really. Orbital napalm barrages for killing enemies, particularly bug breaches, in a specific area. The Orbital Walking Barrage allows you to advance to an objective or for killing enemies in a straight line. Most used the Orbital Strike or Orbital Gas due to its low cooldown. Each Helldiver has a go-to Stratagem lineup per objective/ enemies, etc.
@@jankevinsalvacion9621 I agree 👍, glad people are starting to use more than just the "best" stratagems. Sometimes all it takes is a bit of tweaking and inspiration to make even the worst of stratagems good again.. though it does help that a lot of them are getting buffed..
@@lukemehalick370 @jalontf2 Yes the commando is by far my favorite support stratagem! Super useful for every enemy type in the game, and with its fast CD it's always a prime choice, was fun to have 2 commandos (1 was included in some maps for limited time) and I legit cruised through levels... Weirdly enough, it's the stratagem jammers that usually ruin my campaigns, due to constant bot drops incoming and failed attempts resulting in no support weapons to help clear it... Dang bots and their stupid technology...
