I'm confused with the context, did the japanese anime mcdonald ad went controversial for no reason? I thought the reason it got viral was it was compared with weird mcdonald ad that was saying don't kxxl me or something
Adam very conveniently leaving out the equally huge contingent of weirdos claiming the ad "felt pedophilic" and "promoted fascist ideals", because it was exclusively leftists saying that.
Exactly. Those weirdos do love shadowboxing their imaginary strawmen. I regularly interact with people in leftist/progressive circles and I never saw a single person who had a problem with that anime ad.
The abilities of Twitter users to create a strawman of people they can literally see by just putting a few words in a search bar is second to none. Literally anything happens and some idiots will bring up woke ideologies or "the downfall of western civilization" it's halarious and hella sad.
What I hate about the American anime ad is that it just reeks of ironic weeb. It feels more parody than something actually genuine. Though I thought it was cool they hired actual western anime artists to draw some of the adverts.
The worst McDonalds commercial was the one with lame as hell rapping. No, McD's. I do not need to hear some hippy-dippy woman rap about burgers and yoga.
Adum also hates andor because it is part of a machinery that destroys cinema and makes it necessary to clarify 'but this is the good one' after 20 years of failed entries
Reminds me of many of my favorite video game VAs. When they reprised their roles in the remakes years later, people thought it was a different person voicing their favorite characters.
I will give Adum $500 USD if he watches the first 6 episodes of Andor on stream. This is not a joke. This is a sincere offer. Fuck it, make it $600. $100 per episode, and by the end of episode 6 he will FINALLY realize we were right.
Andor is good because it's the least Star Wars-y Star Wars media It legitimately seems like the people behind it made it their mission to use the LEAST amount of pre-existing Star Wars stuff, and a lot of scenes are quiet, well-written talking scenes that you'd expect out of an HBO show or something, and not a multi-billion dollar IP Obviously if Adum's negative emotional tie to Star Wars is too strong to view the show as separate from the rest of the property, then it won't matter too much, but who knows
Hey do you have the clip of YMS talking about the one part in the lion king remake where when simba and nala were singing that one song and the drum at the end was off and he explains how it sounds bad and he goes "if you didnt hear it, congrats you can get a job at disney" XD. I was gonna find it myself but i kinda dont wanna skip around through like a 3 hour review and im wondering if you have the clip already
I cannot stand the bloated corpse of a franchise Star Wars has become, and it's only worsened since the Disney tenureship. With Andor however, It feels like we breifly crossed over with another universe where the franchise has actually had a consistent run, and we got to see a glimpse of the property handled competently.
adum's dedication to being a star wars hater so much that he's chosen to actively ignore the one obviously good thing star wars has done is honestly admirable. i love andor but i have to respect that
Alex praised Andor and said he "would recommend it" I believe at least three times, certainly twice, in this week's Sardonicast episode, and Adum did not respond at all lol
