Great job. I've made the decision to go with this installation when my boat launches soo. I've seen both installations with the same swivel kit you have, and the normal swivel with the two or three links of chain. Though they may do the same job, I think this installed swivel is more roboust. The "seizing" wire is nothing more than stainless steel safety wire used in the aircraft industry. It comes in 0.20", 0.32", and 0.40" and by the way you were twisting it by hand (I use a safety wire pliers, which makes the coils evenly twisted, not wrapped around each other), you couldn't twist the 0.40" by hand. In aviation, the bolt head would have been installed with wire through the head, twisted, and attached nearby in the directio to keep the bolt from turning. So if the bolt tries to turn, the more the wire tightens against it. You can find a spool of this wire in aircraft supplies locations, or Amazon, etc. Makes great for emergency repairs. Luckly none of your tools and parts didn't go in the drink. Fair winds.
Your suggestion to improve the manufacturing process was spot on. Simple adjustment to fix the problem defect seen in operational use. Next time the strap breaks, use a dremel or file and do so yourself to assist going forward. And tef gel would be good if staying on weather-deck. I know posted 5 years ago, but great video and comments.
Definitely possible and many cats have it pivot to the side or pivot up however you then need supporting stays down to the hulls. This design requires no supporting wires. Everything on a boat is a compromise.
My biggest complain about Victron... There should be an online convertor or a native Mac OS app. I can't believe Victron is closing ears on this problem for that long. My solution is; remote connect a Windows pc to use ve configuration tools. Then upload new updated settings with Cerbo GX to MultiPlus... And it's a pain in the a..
I used Navionics on an android with my pontoon boat on long river trips or the ICW and it worked fine. I still use it from time to time on my John boat when going deep in the back waters. Navionics has raised their yearly renewal price from $25 to $50 but if you are out a lot is worth it. Just be very careful....if you are putting Navionics on an android, you download from the internet. Do not go buy the chip at a marine store. The chips are for the chart plotters only.
Thanks for the video. Researching anchor swivels and your experience is great to see. Not sure if you are aware of Tef-Gel but it's an amazing stainless antigalling and anti corroision lubricant. I use tef-gel liberally. I kept thinking as you were pulling the teflon tape off how I would have just coated all the surfaces with tef-gel. Admittedly the teflon tape doesn't get all over your hands like a paste but that's not an issue, right? ha you got a new subscriber.
I kept waiting for the bushing or washers to fall off but the grease must have been holding them in place. I guess that is one reason to goop the heck out of it like you did!
Maybe putting the 6 to 1 on the side with the ENGINE? Heavier side. 5 to 1 on the BOW side...lighter side. Nice design. I try to use an ELECTRIC winch when available to assist.
I have a Mac and have gone on VictronConnect on my MacBook Pro, it doesn’t show any enable settings? Everybody keeps telling me you can change things, but I do not see enable settings anywhere??? 😩
I love the idea of this video! I know it's a lot more work and camera setups, but you could add one or two other views 'picture in picture' maybe one of your helm and another off the stern or something that would be way cool... Just a thought👍

I just watched this video and what poor show. Don't read the instructions and do everything incorrectly. Partially inflate the tubes to stretch out the wrinkles makes it easier to install the floor. The keel is the last tube inflated. The side tubes need to be partially inflated to at most 1psi in all tubes before fully inflating so that you do not blow out the interior baffles. I know that you are trying to look cute and clever by not reading the instructions, but it just makes you look ignorant.
These are good nav lights. If they had a usb rechargable battery pack they would have been perfect. I use them on a 12 ft ab. I used a go pro mount stuck to the engine cowl for my stern and the tri color at the bow. They get frequent use the batteries last long enough and they are well built. After about 3 years use the stern light cuts out with the shock from the chop. I fixed it with some cardboard shims.
Its almost impossible to sail in northern regions, Temperature can change more than 10c in a day and it can get to negative temperatures and no time to adjust tension. I never seen any monohull went to Svalbard or Greenland using dyneema. BUT in milk run it is much better than steel
I would have thought you would get more corrosion on the first link. So this was very informative. That corroded chain is toast. I assume you got rid of it by now. You have to re-galvanize your chain from time to time before it gets that bad. It looks like your anchor is corroding just a bit near the stainless shackle. But the anchor is pretty thick so maybe not much of a concern.

Hi guys, I love your channel and really looking forward to seeing what your new boat can do. from watching this video. It looks like you’re sailing way too deep. May I suggest that you set a waypoint up ahead and then sail to the apparent wind with the Spinnaker tack in the centre and keep your eye on the VMG and try sailing with the apparent wind at about 90 to 100°. When you point up a bit you’ll gain speed and as your speed builds the apparent wind or come forward and you’ll be away and be heading the same direction but a lot faster, and then you’ll see, even though you cover more distance your VMG will show that you are getting to your waypoint faster. It takes some practice, but it’s a lot of fun, but generally on a catamaran, trying to sail to deep is just a slow way of getting from A to B and it’s hard on your sails. Cheers Rustie.
This was SUPER helpful! I have a 1966 Islander 29 with a Colligo deadeye on a dyneema backstay. It hadn’t been touched in years and had stretched/crept enough that the mast had lost any prebend and was slightly inverted. I couldn’t find any instruction (or even a clue) how to retension it until I found your video. I actually was waiting for a rigger to get back to me. I followed your instructions and knocked it out in under an hour. HUGE thanks! The rig looks great!
