Dear Nick Zentner and Tom Foster, Why hexagonal always forms vertical but not horizontal in Basalt? Maybe it is not volcanos? How can you prove your theory? Mud never cracks in perfect hexagonal, it is more random and chaotic cracks/shapes, so you can't compare it.
If these petrified logs were cut or cracked by nature why most of the cross section of the cuts are flat and exact perpendicular to the length of the log 1:47 Petrified logs are old but the cuts are too perfect to be that old , may be by some old advanced civilizations
He says “lava” I say ancient petrified PLANT CELLS! These formations are on every single one of the “mesas” that literally look like ancient TREE STUMPS!🧐 History is obscured on purpose for a reason.
After reading some of the comments, I see we have some interesting biblical skeptics who cannot combine scientific reality with the only book they seem to be able to read. Ha ha so funny. Keep teaching, Nick. I don't believe their preaching. They miss so much only conceiving history in the thousands instead of the true millions of years. And God is so much more mysterious and amazing when combined with scientific facts! Love your work. ing
So first I thank you for assuming I am young! I accidentally stumbled on your videos and lectures in my google feed. I just want to thank you for making all of the earth forms of time make sense and for making millions of years of history come to life so succintly! I have not veen able to walk the trails you have taken me on but I am facinate by the scenery I saw through the windows of the semi truck I trained in as my mentor trained me to drive from the ohio valley to the west coast and back again. Thanks again. I now understand so much better what created the amazing formations and voids that are so picturesque. The mesas, plateaus, valleys, and coolees tell amazing stories of how our earth has become and is still becoming. Your enthusiasm is wonderfully infectious.
Like the bow tie. Grew up in Wenatchee and took my first geology course at Wenatchee Valley College in 1973. Our teacher, a chemist(!), took us on field trips where we saw the physical evidence of the flood waters released during the ice age. That geology course got me hooked as I look back as a retired geologist. Very good presentation.
hey Nick, right before and next to Buffalo eddy there is some thick layers of Mazama ash, it's mind blowing how thick it is in places, so I'm thinking the amount of ash that fell here in Eastern WA, and southwestern Idaho had to reach the rooftops of easily 2 story house's! that's incredible and Nez Perce , Kyuse , Walla Walla, Yakima, all survived some how!
