@@alfgui yeah me too ( did the newest driver and firmware) , but I couldn’t control anything like the channel faders or the fx to the bottom right, can you send a screenshot of the settings of Traktor please? Are you connected to moniters ? Whats your setup ? I would really appreciate it 🙏🏻
@@alfgui and I have the Traktor x1 mk2 as a Controller for midi ( and its working perfectly) . I just need the mixer to work ) . Is there a midi mapping? If yes please send , thank you 🙏🏻
@@ricknox469 Nothing to do with MIDI. These DJM mixers will work on “External Mixing” mode. You are just routing the audio through their internal channels. Check the “Line / Phono / USB” switch on top of the mixer. You should always use USB when connected for external mixing or timecode.
@@alfgui Yes I have already set it external mode in settings with the newest driver version and the channels are all set to usb, but I couldn't control the 4 channel faders at all meaning they are not reactive ,also the fx at the bottom right are not working too
is the sound coming through via your laptop soundcard or is deck A in traktor actual routed through channel 1 on the mixer ? wondering if you could route all four decks into each mixer channel?
Hello! This mixer makes noises when used with a Mac. After spending more than a month writing to Pioneer, they finally told me that there is a problem between Mac and the mixer and that is why crackling noises occur when using it with a macbook. I have spent hours and hours trying to follow the steps they told me to fix it. The process has been quite disappointing. If you intend to use it as a soundcard or Rekordbox controller for a Mac, I do not recommend it! Greetings!
Hi, sorry to hear that. Which Mac device and OS version are you using? Back then I didn’t have any problems. Maybe this is something introduced on M1/M2 drivers? Have you tried other softwares?
You mean Novation Dicer? If so, it was a compact midi controller specifically made to fit into turntables upper left adapter’s space. It is a discontinued product now, since most mixers already have midi buttons (DJM-S5, S7, Numark Scratch, Mixars, Kontrol Z2, etc.) Novation Dicer controls hot cues, loops, etc.
Boa noite.
I know its been a while, but how was plx 500 after all this time. I use to own technics 1210 mk3 20 years ago, and i really miss it. Wanted to get plx, my budget is tight, is it alriht for mixes, scratching practice etc.. any help appreciated.
Hey, can anyone help me, I'm the sound engineer for a club dj set in a couple of days and I was wondering, does using the send output as an extra output (so not for any effects to return) disable the other internal effects the mixer has ?
I wouldn't use that. Take a look at the mixer manual. I'm not sure now, but the send will only work for selected channels with a pre-fader level (there is a dial on the right to select channels 1 to 4, crossfader A and B, and Master, this will send the signal to an effects unit). Therefore, the send does not work as a mixer output. For that you have four options: Master XLR, Master RCA, Booth and REC (fixed level output).
And answering your question, no, connecting anything to the send will not affect the other effects on the mixer. The DJ should select "Snd/Rtn" to use the external unit.
Are you using Traktor or Rekordbox? You basically need to setup both channels on your audio interface/mixer to use timecode. The input comes from PLX timecode vinyl and output comes from software.
Hi mate, I am Using traktor pro 3. I have managed to change the settings on the pioneer djm 450 device manager to phono input. And can control the tracks via the traktor timecoded vinyls, however the bpm doesn’t seem solid at all and it’s making it really hard to mix. Got ortofon dj 2 needles. Any ideas
I don't remember now. I usually like Ortofon Reloop Black (the same as Pro-S but cheaper) or any cheaper Ortofon. The original from Pioneer is the same as Audio Technica (some chinese supplier probably).
A USB cable. You can use the internal sound card for that. Or, you can always use an RCA cable (L/R) plugged into another soundcard just for recording.
Hi, yes it's possible. Back in 2017 it wasn't. But after Traktor released new updates, and specially after Traktor 3, you can use timecode with DJM-450 straight from the box.
Even though you speak foreign language I Loved your review video my friend. You answered all my comparison between technics 1200 vs pioneer 500 questions. Excellent video!
Hi can you please tell me how you got your mixer running only via midi connection in traktor, I use an external audio card and just can't get it to work... im using the djm 450
Hi, it's not working over midi. It's just connected as a soundcard on Mac/PC, and I'm controlling audio with keyboard and mouse. Just that. I just recorded this video as a simple test.
@@alfgui Thank you for your prompt reply. i can see that you only have a midi cable plugged into the leptop and that you can use the complete mixer with all the effects thats why i ask. maybe I'm wrong, can you tell me how you managed to do it?
@@schalljongleur3851 It's not midi cable. It's USB. The mixer is working on "external" mode with internal soundcard. You just need to route the soundcard channels in Traktor or any other software, and then mix it as you usually do.
