One and only Monica, never matched. Dignified, classy, strong, yet so humble. The insane Graf fan has destroyed her career and almost took her life, but that act has only made her into an icon. The greatest tennis professional, male or female, ever!! LOVE YOU, MONICA!!!!
Lost interest in tennis after Monica Seles , it lost its charm for me , Monica Seles is the greatest tennis players of all times . I love you Monica Seles , then n now and will always , you are only tennis champion I know ❤
Monica the BEST. I remember when she make Graf, in her prime, look gimpy, except at Wimbledon. Then someone stab her, when she at the top. Only Seles know what that like. Most athlete, they their worst enemy. Take assailant prove nobody close to her when she peaking. She talk about eating issue. Now she talk about dyslexia. 'Monica' one of my favorite name, becuz of her.
To God Be The Glory! TJ - I met you and Akasha 7 years ago in Holiday Park Fort Lauderdale and I was impressed with her skills and dedication for the sport. I even took a video of that moment. I still have the video ☺️ Not sure why I kept it over the years. I suppose I saw my own daughters in her. Akasha, I am extremely HAPPY to see the young lady you have become. And, I look forward to see you rise higher and higher. God Bless you and your family. 🙏🏾👑💖✨
Just a quick FYI...at 26 seconds you used the word "alot." The problem is that "alot" isn't a word; it is two words. You might want to correct that little error as it reflects on your program. Thanks.
The greatest tennis ever. Male or female greater than Novak the undisputed King of tennis 👑 Love both. Funny how the two greatest tennis players of all time both come from a small country like Yugoslavia or Serbia ❤. Before it was destroyed by the west.
worst thing to even happen on a tennis court in 1993 to this women. i was always a fan since she came on the scene in the late 80's and always rooted for her. too bad she was never able to play at the level she was before the stabbing.
We watched her play today for the 1st time... WOW!!! She's only 16?!?! Tried to get my daughter to meet her and ask for her autograph...but she said she was too nervous😊. She loves playing tennis and surely was inspired tonight💕
as a graf fan the worst day in sports history was the day monica got stabbed. monica had her life changed and tennis fans were robbed of her brilliance and many great showdowns with steffi
Wow TJ, thank you for sharing such a fantastic story!! Akasha is a fantastic athlete, Tennis player, and young woman. Both of you have put in a great work ethic, hard word, dedication, and devotion for sure. Kudos to both of you and to many more years of success!
How can you not love Monica? Yes, she was a fantastic player, and more than likely wd have won the most GS titles. The stabbing missed by a hairsbreadth from killing her, but the psychological impact was deadly. She struggled for years with that, and other problems, like her mother's illness, her father's death, and the callousness of her fellow players. Graf visited her only once in hospital, and none of the other players, except Sabatini, voted for her to keep a protected ranking till she recovered. She struggled with fear, loss of confidence, and battles with her weight. From being a bright, warm, bubbly person, she virtually became a recluse. I met her on the street one day a few years after she returned to the tour, when you wd have imagined she wd wary of strangers approaching her, and she couldn't have been nicer, and more approachable. I admire her so much for not being bitter, or self pitying, but instead finding other ways to help and encourage kids, not just in tennis, but also with what life throws at you.
Nice PR piece. The reality is, Seles was not a "harisbreadth" from dying...where do you people get this stuff? She was hospitalized one night, and left Germany the following day to return to the states. She could have resumed playing within 3 months. She chose to take off for 2 years. In which time, she got out of shape and overweight, and her results after returning showed this. Contrast that with Petra Kvitova, who was violently attacked in her home, sustained a career-threatening injury to her hand but was back on court in 7 months and playing to this day. And not sure how throwing shade at other players who didn't drop everything to be at Seles' side is relevant. You seem to forget that Monica Seles was not widely liked by fans or peers when she burst on the scene...she was aloof to other players, and the grunting was viewed as a form of gamesmanship, ergo the gruntless1992 Wimbledon final, which proved beyond doubt that she could turn it on and off like flipping a switch. It's nice to be a fan, but get real.
The player that makes me love tennis, i remembering my self asking permission going home early to my teacher due to ilness, when i was in junior high school 😂😂 whereas i intended to see the AO 93 final live, and she won that trophy... Wish monica always stay healthy & always kind heart as ever Regards, U'r fanatic fans from indonesaia😊😊😊
Never understood how a player with such an ugly game could have any fans outside of Serbia. This rat‘s face and this shrieking were the icing on the cake. Well, some people just like ugly.
@@user-hp5dv1vn9iNo, that is not true. In 1990 Steffi was the dominant player - she had a bigger lead in the WTA ranking at year‘s end than Seles ever had in 1991-93. Seles was indeed dominant in 1991/92, her 2 best years ever. Yet she lost 11 matches (Steffi for instance only 5 in 1988/89 and 6 in 1995/96). Even more - she lost 3 of 4 matches against Steffi, lost twice against a 15-year-old, even 3 times against a 34/35-year-old. In 1993 she won the AO but couldn‘t prevent Steffi from coming closer and closer in ranking points (this is the reason why Steffi became #1 again just 5 weeks after stabbing).
She is ageing..... I miss u monica. I stopped watching tennis when you retired. Tennis is not interesting anymore for me without you. Im from india, as a kid u were my fevourite player, is and will be. Stay fit and healthy, love and respect for you. My idol 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🙏🙏🙏.
