this set can do things my older 15 K in EUROS set with big speakers could not do tech does change over years and it makes it easier to place in a room and the W.A.F. is much more fun and ease !
Thanks for this again keep doing the great ! i own it since May this year this by far one of the best and better than Soundbars the only thing is the drop out moments if they fix that on this original as un upgrade by replacing the black unit by a better non drop out version i buy it in a minute

How does it perform at lower volumes? I live in an apartment so I don't think I am gonna go above 30% and from what I have read HT-A9 sounds a little "anemic" at low volume. Is it true?
Wow, Sony dropped the ball. I'd buy it in a heartbeat if it wasn't hamstrung like that with no 3D and downgraded resolution. Oh, well, maybe the VR3 in six years will fix that.
I watched and i thought it was stupid. Looked like a toy Godzilla at times. Not sure what all the hype is about this movie but the effects just didn't match what everyone is saying. Looked like a 100k budget movie
Thanks for this review so open most are to Biased this one is super for countries were you can not listening is a shop because most Sony stores are gone all died due partly COVID killed financial those shops i think .
You would think when your comparing modes that boost low volume sounds, and turn down high volume sounds (or when comparing anything really), that you wouldn't pretty much just play white noise (the crowd), and maybe play a part from an action movie or something that has high and low volume noises so you have something to compare
You seem impressed ...i thought about buying one a year ago...now Sony has released the QUAD.....the A9 is avalible for a bit less then the original price......i am going to get one 😅😅😅
I just bought one today for my living room after home demo from Sony India team. I am the first buyer to purchase Sony A9M2 in my city. Got it for 2200$ along with SW5
Hi Blaze, my height ceiling is 10 feet, in sound setting for height, im not sure whether to set to low, default, or high? I can't differentiate between each of them. What's the purpose of these options?
There is no true hd Atmos ,true hd will only show up if it's mixed in that format or if you have a receiver that doesn't decode Atmos it will show the Atmos as true hd
@@jydbbo all 4k dvd discs nowadays xomes with truehd atmos which is lossless, does ht a9 ever shows truehd on its display? It wont show i hipe it show as hdmi only. If u press display in the tv will it ever shows anything else other than dolby atmos, i mean True hd or anything else, have u had a chance to play a disc using 4k/bliray player with the disc?? All the disc comes with true hd atmos only.and other formats like dts hd master.
One thing people misplace all the time is a remote. The one thing people never misplace is their smartphone. I like the idea of having the setup being on the smartphone
Love this little subwoofer. I have this SW3 and the larger SW5 to match up with a couple of Sony A7000. Its a loud punchy subwoofer. Its a really nice speaker, highly recommended
I watched GMO 4K on Netflix premium at the highest bit rate. I found that the original Japanese cut dolby atmos sound was much more pronounced vs. the English dubbed take. Also, yet another HT-A9 firmware (1.784) was released on June 25th, way to go Sony. ;) Keep them coming Sony, please. Great movie review as usual. I especially enjoy your enthusiasm and commentary, keep it up. ;)
@@blazinreviews2393 Let's say you don't have any good speakers (no A9 or Quad), but you have all the knowledge and experience with those speakers. Would you buy an A9 or Quad Home Theater?
@@blazinreviews2393 Does the Quad justify its price over the A9, given the information I have that it only offers small improvements over the A9 and now many settings are on a mobile app, which I think is a bad idea?
Doesn’t play in 5.1 or any surround sound it plays in 2 channel stereo only & it may also be just playing that 2 channel sound out of the surround speakers if you have particular settings set on the theatre system.
Dude I have the HTA9 also and was using Advanced Audio Volume for months. I turned that off recently and the HTA9 really shines. The dynamic range is just so Mick wider. Give it a try 👍
@@GEOSIMRACING no audio drc and no advanced volume etc...if u want lower lows and higher highs disable audio drc, Can someone confirm how the truehd atmos supposed to be display on tv, if i press display in hta9 remote while playing disc with truehd(Dolby Atmos)
Seriously Hollywood should get their act together. I think the in catering in Hollywood is the same budget as this whole movie. Sounds great though! 😉.
@@blazinreviews2393 please turn off AAV, we've did extensive testing on the avsforum and it severely degrades audio quality. Turn it off and Higher the volume to 40 ish. You'll hear a whole new awesome system.
Have already checked the Netflix version and the physical disc sounds better in my opinion but the Atmos on Netflix isn’t that bad and still sounds amazing with this movie.
As I already stated above, you must be a Netflix premium subscriber for the best possible video and audio available, in addition to having a high speed broadband connection. Also, definitely watch the Japanese version for best quality audio. There is a difference, don´t why though?

For some reason i can't get mine to output audio. It connects but i don't hear nothing from my sound bar. If i connect it to a smaller portable bluetooth speaker it works. So the usb works... i jus can't got it to work with my sound bar. I saw you mess with some settings on your tv or soumthing but i didn't know what to do on that. What settings do you have on your ps5? cuz that might help me figure out what going on.
Hey Blaze, great Video. I have also my HT… Question: I have my xbox series x connected to my Sony TV and via eARC to the HT… Playing now Dragons Dogma 2 it shows Dolby Vision but never Dolby Atmos when kt comes to sound, even though that game support that, I can oly choose standard, cinema, music and on. I not even remembering in the last 2 1/2 year with the HT that I had there Dolby Atmos displayed… Any ideas? Thanks. 😊
NONE of these videos show the required power cables, its basically misleading advertising given it makes it look like a clean box on the wall or Wireless speakers when its simply not true. It makes me think these people don't have this system in person.
Well, who in their right mind believes that speakers can work without power? I mean, it's obvious the power needs to come from somewhere and that that somewhere is going to be the power outlet, ergo there's gonna be cables involved.
I agree i preferred the cylinder look of the A9 unless these are wall mounted which would be very expensive given you don't really want to have a power cables running down the wall and having permanent plug sockets high up on the wall would be quite a risk. As far as colours, I agree plack should be an option and I would be surprised if it isn't but given the flat surface, some bright colours would be interesting so you could have arty Green or red or blue or yellow or purple square on your wall, not a horrible grey fabric.
I agree about the smartphone issue. The samsung q990C also forces you to use a smartphone to control everything and even if you try to use the provided remote all the sound settings are hidden away in multiple presses of the same button. Verrrrry annoying.
@@blazinreviews2393 that's correct 🙂 i was looking up the new Bravia Theatre Quad and came across the HT-A9 which is half the price now of the Quad. Great deal !. For me 2.600 is a little too much plus is still don't know how i feel about the new design.
I've owned the HT-A9 for 2 years and recently tried the Theater Quad. If you don't already have the HT-A9, I STRONGLY recommend saving up for the Quad. It avoids the frustrating connection issues of the HT-A9, which needs the box to be in line of sight to the speakers for one otherwise it's way more prone to disconnects so limiting placement; i couldn't keep it inside my media furniture for example. Even in an optimal conditions (not a huge distance, very low furniture so line of sight is not interrupted; no wifi interference from Neighbours as my house is stand-alone and i use WiFi 6 which is on a different band than the HT-A9 operates) random dropouts still occur VERY randomly. Often if i sit in the middle of my couch for a while and suddenly shift to sitting in a different orientation ? Dropouts CAN occur. No joke. But i can have 4 people sitting on the entire couch , covering both rears and no dropouts for the entire evening watching movies?? It's entirely possible that with no changes in the environment, it can suddenly start acting up which just adds to the frustration that it seems like a dice roll instead of actual factors in my living room changing and then causing an issue. My brother's Quad, however, had no issues, even when the box was hidden behind metal doors of his media cabinet with no line of sight. It also has a noticibly better soundstage and the AI voice boost actually does a lot better job at just enhancing voice volume without disturbing the rest (as the HT-A9 just simply boosts EQ in a certain range, that's it; that can effect other things in your soundstage negatively) - i personally am looking at upgrading my HT-A9 after a few months as well.
