I just feel this is a terrible fight that should never be PPV. It just feels like such a foregone conclusion and trying to hype it up with the Mexico vs Puerto Rico angle just feels cheap. This is not a premier match up and the rivalry has not been competitive for a long time for that matter. Unless Berlanga has a level that he hasn't shown us or Canelo suffers a major freak injury; I just don't see how Berlanga pulls this off. Sometimes a fighter is so great that there aren't realistic or interesting contenders. That is not the case for Canelo who has been in several bad PPV main events recently. Don't get me wrong, Ryder and Munguia are world class fighters for their weight division and if a guy like Morrell were to beat them it would be a big deal. However, Canelo is a pound for pound type of fighter and he should be seeking out guys that are great for boxing overall not just a guy who is good for his division. That said, I think David Benavidez is the obvious choice or even a Bivol rematch at 168 or 175. I know it is not popular to say but I do think Canelo beats Benavidez who I have always felt was made to order for him. Canelo feasts on come forward brawlers and that is David. I just don't know for certain if they will ever actually fight.
Canelo stops Berlanga in the early to middle rounds and if it isnt by brutal KO, Berlanga will quit or get himself DQd after a sustained beating. Berlanga really isnt that good and I've seen him try to bite a guy out of frustration when he was having a tough fight. He should have been DQd in that fight. Nobody remembers that now. Berlanga has no advantage in this fight.
edgar only elbowed rory since rory hit him in the clinch, edgar doesn't like when fighters are dirty or he will do it back. i think that is why he bit angulo since angulo elbowed him and made him bleed with it.i think its fair enough to return the favor.
regardless the economy or price this isnt worth paying for. The recent Bud card was the only one worth the money because you got a full day and night card stacked with legit fights. If its anything other than that its not worth paying for. Even $40-$50 is too much for this. Nobody wanted any of these fights.
Yeah it was funny wave ! Imagine if he had whipped out a cane and started walking around the ring with it with his other hand on his back !😂 grandpa dynOmite! 😂😂😂
Inoue has proved he is the Greatest of All time P4P fighter and is already a Hall of Famer! If I was Inoue, I would stay in that weight class and let the other who think they are greater than he to either of them to move up to or drop down to his weight class to challenge Inoue!
Bob's words: .. "I understand we''ll be coming back here from Tokyo to defend his title again at the end of the year, then PROYECT HIM to the US for a BIG CELEBRATION in Las Vegas"... "Proyect him for a big celebration in Vegas"... could mean many things... not necessarily a huge challenge; it could well be that but it also could be a fight to GAIN LOTS OF SUPPORT from the US and WORLDWIDE FANS, and so, not necessarily against an American fighter. We'll eventually see...
When you are old these are the kinds of things that can happen to you at anytime, unfortunately. When you age your bones become more brittle, your muscles become less pliable, your reaction time much slower.
While Inouye is indeed an elite fighter, he has also benefitted from elite matchmaking. He has been invariably matched with opponents who either have no punching power, with some boxing skill; decent punching power but limited skill; old with a dubious record record; or old with a very good record, but old nonetheless. He needs to be matched with opponents are comparable in every facet in order cement his legacy.
He’s gone out there, and stopped essentially every top guy in every division he’s been in. What are you going on about? Everyone said Fulton was the bigger and better fighter. He got schooled. Inoue has been the best fighter at 126 and under the last 3 years easily. Stop all that nonsense lol
@ep3578 , obviously, your comprehension leaves much to be desired. I said that Inouye is elite. However, I'm pointing out the one troubling aspect of his career. You triumphantly pointed out that he's knocked out everybody he has faced and listed Fulton as perhaps his best win. While Fulton was highly skilled, I predicted that Fulton would lose easily to Inouye. Why? Because, and I'm embarrassed to even mention it, Fulton had a knockout rate of 36% compared to Inouye's rate of 90%. In a match where the fighters' skills are quite comparable, the fighter with such a disproportionate advantage of power invariably wins. In a fight where Inouye had almost double the power of Inouye, who did you think was going to win? It was essentially a mismatch. This takes me back to the point I was making: matchmaking has played somewhat of a role in Inouye's remarkable success, and Top Rank has the best matchmakers in the world. It's rare for a boxer to win when the talent level is equal, but the power level is disproportionately not on his side. Only very special boxers like Muhammad Ali and Money Mayweather have been able to overcome that deficit. That's why I would like to see Inouye fight with someone who is comparable in speed, power, age, and IQ as a final true test of his greatness.
His matchmaking has been fighting the best in his divisions lmao, thats mostly who they “pick” the mfer thats among the best at that time. If the best look so obviously flawed next to him, thats a testament to his quality.
I think it was a good performance by Inoue but idk he was there to be hit. I didn't expect doheny to land as much as he did against Inoue. Does Inoue have problems fighting southpaws? What if MJ hits him like that? Who's also a southpaw
Inoue is 6-0 6 KO with southpaws and all were world champions. This his 3rd southpaw in a row hes knocked out. Hard to say he has much problems with them. Southpaws are awkward by nature Inoues record is pretty abnormal in that regard
