Honestly, of all the shows I’ve watched, Dan has some of the best character development in any I’ve seen. They took a man who so many people hated, and turned him into someone who when he died, you actually loved and cared about. That’s just amazing storytelling.
I'm sad that Dan never got to know Sawyer. That man truly loved his grandchildren and wanted to do better for him than he did for his sons. In the end, with Keith's forgiveness, I do think Dan redeemed himself
I love that Dan finally saw Haley as Family. I always thought Haley would be the last person to forgive Dan. Dan saved Jamie & Nathan. If Lucas didn’t save Dan in the dealership he wouldn’t be where he is now in this scene.
I love that it is Clay who lost it first, even tho he had no closer relatives involved in the accident... At least no so much as Nate or Julian... That is some GOOD LOOKIN' OUT RIGHT THERE... Also when Nate stretches a hand, and you believe it's to get him out, but he knocks him out of the park... And the three walk away like... this was gang payback...
Haley is amazing! I never got the closure I needed with my dad because he passed when I was 12 and he lived in another state but we got an hour away from the hospital when we said our goodbyes and it kills me to this day that I never got to see him
I think this is the most beautiful scene in the entire show - it’s just perfection. The full circle return to the scene at the school, Keith forgiving Dan, “I told you the voice was wrong - it gets better” - even the music. 12 years later and it’s still a masterpiece.
The murder was not cold blooded as it made it out to be. Dan honestly thought Keith was the one who tried to kill him at the dealership fire. Finding the ledger confirmed it to himself that Keith did it. Be honest, if we were in Dan’s position at that moment, we would have done the same thing. How come it’s ok for Jax to off his mother in SOA and everyone loves him for it but yet people find it hard to forgive Dan for doing the same thing.
100% agree. I kept saying this to my wife during the entire series... If, in my mind, I was 10000% convinced that someone really did attempt to gratuitously MURDER me, if you really put yourself in that position, I would probably murder them in "self-defense"... How do I know they won't try again in the future?
