The resort was great but in comparison to their neighboring Palace, and even the Divi Resort which i also stayed at, the serivice recieved at the Antillas could definitely be improved upon. In regards to some of the staff I sensed, experienced, and witness some behavior that at times made me feel uncomfortable and decided to spend more time at the Palace where the staff seemed more relaxed they made everyone feel special also the energy amongst the staff at the Palace seemed like a happier more positive work environment. The rooms at the Antillas are nicely renovated. If you enjoy dancing, music, drinking eating then this is your place. The lobby bar is a great place to meet up with folks and I personally loved the outside patio at night overlooking the pool and beach, and having a live band made the nights more enjoyable. Also you can't beat the location lots within walking distance but if you need a ride somewhere the resort is very good at helping you organize your itinerary for your time on the island.

My family and I didn't worry about a thing. If you wanted a coffee and a sweet treat at the coffee bar or a strong drink, food and snacks till late into the night, all included. Even some of the water equipment rentals complimentary, but they do require some personal info and you have to make sure to get the equipment back to the rental spot on the resort at a designated time. If your planning an excursion, eating outside the hotel or shopping at the 5-6 shops they have between the resort, then you are responsible for those expenses. Also , give a little extra to the folks who made you forget about the craziness of life for awhile, you feel in your heart, made your stay special. Overall no worries here, but speak with a travel agent to set up your trip, that's what we did. I hope that helps.

When I stayed at the Riu Palace regarding tips the staff actually seemed unimpressed by tipping. The only time that I considered tipping would be if received special attention at my table from the wait staff, either at the buffet or the restaurants. If You didn't wake up early enough it's hard to get an umbrella. There are enough chairs on the beach. A good tip what we did, we tried to connect with some of the beach staff, also use your towel and beach bag to show that your spot is taken, most people will not take your spot if it looks occupied. Now when it comes to discrimination on the resort itself I didn't experience anything discriminatory from the staff from either Riu Palace or Rui Antilla next door. In Oranjestand I did experience some obvious discrimination. At the "Aruba" store, I was being followed around it was very obvious, she was shadowing me through the store and ignored all the white shoppers, which included some of my family members, I went outside to wait for them, and i honestly didn't go on vacation to be reminded how messed up people's thought process worked. I couldn't comprehend this mindset reach all the way here. Not all shops were like this but i did experience a few. But not letting simple minded people ruin my trip, i did most of my shopping around the Palm Beach area, which wasn't bad at all. I had no issues at either Rui resort shops, good service. Overall my stay at the Rui Palace was pretty good. If you had any issues they would try to do their best to accommodate. I met some interesting folks from Texas, I'm from Canada myself. It was frightening and fun at the same time. 😊
