I have done these tests a few years ago. I use a 3000w 240 vac house water heater that I run off my inverter at 120vac . Uses around 750w at 120v which is a much easier load for my system. I have a transfer switch to switch from one to the other when I need or feel like it. Welcome to check out my channel. Click on my name or picture and go to videos. Lots of solar videos a couple years ago. I install solar now but havent made any new videos for a couple months. Be safe. Cheers

Just wondering if you've had any issues with your handle? Mine just broke and your video is the only sunmar repair video I am finding on here. I have had a crack in the plastic and knew this was coming. The new one is on order, but I need to be able to turn the drum before it arrives. Any suggestions? I'm at a loss.

Not bad. The sunlight is going to be there either way, so you might as well get some free power from it!

Here is a couple of suggestions: 1. I bought that same MPPT solar charge controller many years ago. It required you to turn the controller on for it to work every day. So go check it the next day to see if it is in fact working or not. It will work, it is just annoying to need to turn it on every day. 2. If you get multiple, say three 50 watt panels, you can mount them above the mower and use them as a canopy to shade you from the sun. If you wire all 3 of them in series then you would end up with 54 volts(18 volts per panel). This would then allow you to get a more standard MPPT charge controller instead of one that has a buck converter built in. Just a couple of suggestions! You’ve got a great start going! Keep it up!

@fargoloomis3569
@fargoloomis3569 5 месяцев назад
240v split phase from grid and inverter, grid and inverter have neutrals that are combined in house panel Grounds are also combined on separate ground bar. Don’t use this method to disconnect neutrals. Not code compliant and not necessary.

Looks like a fun project. Thanks for the video. I have a ryobi electric riding more (rm480ex I think). Didn't really like it with the original lead acid. When they went, replaced them with some chins LFP. Works great, and I can hook up a 3000W inverter to it when power goes out.

Any chance a big rain could wash away some of your supports?
@fargoloomis3569
@fargoloomis3569 4 года назад
Rich Bruner the supports are bolted to a grid of pipes under the cinder blocks. It would have to erode at least 1/3 of the way under for that to happen. The water is diverted to help mitigate water coming through the support areas. This is my first water wheel I have built and it’s an experiment to see what areas I can improve on future designs.

Hi.. i bought this horn. I was wondering if you could give me some advice on connecting it to the air line. It only has a smooth opening...any help would be appreciated thanks!
@rmssphinx
@rmssphinx 6 лет назад
Hello. The most basic and cheapest option is to cut a piece of thick plywood to size the base. I have a Zollner Makrofon and it only has a smooth opening in the base. I'm not sure but I would expect the Ibuki, like the Zollner, has two or four holes around the air line in. What worked for me was to cut a piece of ply to the size of the base and cut three holes to match the inlet and attaching holes. Then, one can use a threaded air line into the wood (the metal would bite into the wood and form an air tight fit.) Then just bolt the wood to the inlet plate with some sealer between. Simple and effective. Hope this helps. RMS Sphinx.
@Squalevision
@Squalevision 6 лет назад
@@rmssphinx That does help. Thanks because I was confused if the airline goes into the part that says pressure or the base. They both route into the reed area but the pressure part has a long bolt that goes against the back of the horn..not sure what it does. Do you have any idea how much pressure it takes to blow a horn this size..I appreciate the reply!
@rmssphinx
@rmssphinx 6 лет назад
My Zollner is rated at 7-40 bar input. So I'd assume for full power, 8 bar for the Ibuki 200. Though, I have found that it (the Zollner) will give a pathetic wheeze at 10 psi. Just out of curiosity, was it you who bought the blue Ibuki 200 on ebay? RMS Sphinx.
@Squalevision
@Squalevision 6 лет назад
@@rmssphinx Ok. I ask because I'm having trouble getting anything at 150psi but this is from a long 1/4 inch air line. How do I up the bar. I even tried changing the reed to poly...also I've been trying things without the horn on does the back pressure matter? Yep haha..it was me I bought it!...ive been looking at that thing for a long time. Had to get one!
@rmssphinx
@rmssphinx 6 лет назад
1/4in is way too small for that horn. I'd say, no smaller than 1/2in. The similar sized Kockums Supertyfon AT 150/130 uses a 1/2 inch air line. As a guess, to run it off 1/4in, which is 1/4 of the capacity of a 1/2in line, then the pressure must be quadrupled, so you would need to put 16 bar through the 1/4 line. I'll point out that a single train horn often uses a 1/4in line. Those 3 or 5 horn sets use 1/2in. I'm not sure about the back plate but if you pass 150psi through it, even with a 1/4in line, it should make at least a whisper-quiet noise. The length of the air line is also important. Is air coming out of the trumpet part, or from the sides, back, etc? Funny enough, I was also looking at the blue one.
