for me the first time seeing this type of jet engine was with a bearded old dude on a go kart , riding on the desert i think the video is about 10 or more years ago i can't remember completely but the dude seem very happy driving with that thing strapped on his back
Can't beat the sound of a radial. I live near an airport that has a DC3, T-6 texan, Bt-13, and a beech C-45H hangared on site. It's quite a treat to hear any of them flying around but that beech takes the cake, it sounds amazing.
In (probably) 1969, I watched a U-Line control plane, powered by one of these, at the Sepulvda Dam Model Airport, in So Cal... Was loud and fast! And the "pilot" had his hands full with the force on his control wires. Amazing that it didn't just break the control line wires...
I have the same engine and also enjoy running on test stand! Have you identified any models suitable for an 11" wide engine? I have no idea what to put it in???
Hey sir , great video and impressive hand start!! Could you tell me the position of your high and low speed needle ? I have a brand new dle 170cc with the same prop and the manual recommend open 1 turn each needle but it seems way off. Is this close in your experience ? Thanks again and happy flying !!!
