Love this whole thing! What microphone is Sturbin singing on?
@MissDaisyDuke01
@MissDaisyDuke01 3 месяца назад
He uses a regular mic, like the rest of the guys (probably just brought up higher). As I read, a fellow band member once said, Richard never used anything that would enhance his vocals. To quote: "He's the real thing". He has enough chest strength to pull it off. Quite impressive, I must say. Good for him !!! Be natural. Yeah.

@@MissDaisyDuke01 yeah… guess I should have been more clear with that question. Didn’t really mean specific mic to make him sound “bassy” but instead just meant for this concert in 1981. It looks like they are all using the same mic and I was wondering what it was. Didn’t recognize the design. Does not look like an SM58. Could be anEV or AKG🤷🏻

I had privilege of working with Stars for Children Charity Concerts Dallas TX for 10 yrs-- created by the Oak Ridge Boys 1979 bringing star-studded performers together to raise awareness of child abuse & promote prevention. They're awesome even after 50 yrs on the road. Catch their Farewell Tour Schedule @OakRidgeBoys

Oaks came to London England around this time and sang on BBC Radio 2 and performed at Wembley stadium and "Where the soul never dies" went down a storm with the British Country fans!

I was at this concert. Oaks and Gatlin’s were both churning out big hits during this era. Elvira was fairly recent. It opened up a whole new world for ORB.

Meh. Elvira was written by a guy named Dallas Frazier in 1966.
@johnkincaid5788
@johnkincaid5788 8 месяцев назад
Yeah I should have clarified my thought. Elvira was released as a single by the Oaks in March of 1981 and I believe hit # 1 in May or close to it so the crowds in June were primed. It was not a brand new song.
