The sole purpose of this channel is sharing my automotive passion. Look forward to car reviews, news on new models and hopefully some drag races in the future
Where is that wonderful diesel. Great value. That engine is a gem compared to the Fronx/starlet cross lack of power and torque. And this auto with 6 gears is a definite winner.
They built a 4000sqm parts warehouse in Kyalami which should cover metro areas. Difficult to comment on the rest of the items for a newly launched brand, but as they are part of the Chery group I would not be overly concerned
@@AutoBot_7 that's lekker, you don't want to find your self waiting 7 months for a mirror and grill,, one lady has been waiting for a cherry tiggo bumper 11 months now
Took both for a drive yesterday, and I don’t know if it’s just me, but I much prefer the CVT boxes. Car is beautiful and you really get a lot for your money. Thx for the video. For me personally I enjoy your comments on the cars. You are part of the taller side of humans which always gives me a better indication of how the car would fit me and the passengers. Hou so aan asb.
I think we the people have grown accustomed to the likes of your Havals, Cherry's, Omodas and these new ones JETOUR and GAC are going to take a while for us consumers to get a hang of them and some getting used to them. That's how I feel, maybe I'm the only one that feels so, but yeah 😆 but nonetheless they look good, and this JETOUR looks good also 🔥
I took it for a test drive. Overall, was good. However, 3 things to take note that I picked up during my short test drive. 1. If you are parked on a slight incline, say abot only 20 degrees, and you start the vehicle and engage into reverse, the car rolls forward. Was actually quite surprised. You have to accekerate a little hard to prevent it from rolling forward. Was very disappointed in this. 2. I scrutinised the paintwork. What i noticed when loooking at it from the rear but focusing on the side doors and side fenders, comparing it o my RAV4, it was not a smooth finish. You will pick this up in the sun. Sort of bumpy for lack of better description. 3. No heated seats even in the top of the range one. Overall, I gave it a 6 out of 10. Very disappointed that SA becoming a lucrative market for these Chinese vehicles, they bring out a 1.5l and not a 1.6l. Personally, Im waiting for the T2, hope they dont dump the 1.5 T2 on us. We are serious about our offroading and wish they bring out the 2.0l in the T2.
@@NazirKhan-Bash Thanks for the feedback. Also looking forward to the T2. Hopefully it is a 2 litre and the price is competitive Will have a look at the paint finish when I go passed the dealership again. I had to have a brand new Fortuner resprayed due to a bad paint job
Although I’m quite aware one can’t get everything in 1 vehicle, the lack of forward collision mitigation is conspicuous. My main issue though is the aircon fan. Turning it on to cool the interior of the Jetour Dashing immediately transforms your upmarket glide journey into a ride in a 1980’s Ford Escort on a hot day. Occupants raising their voice to be heard over the extremely loud fan motor which is pushing not even a breeze through the cabin. Otherwise the car has a good set of features and bits that seem to fit together quite well.
Im currently in the market and struggling with the choice of the Omoda lux or the Jetour dashing. The Beijing x55 would of been part hereof but the absence of apple car play and having to use the carbitlink app that simply mirrors your phone ruined everything😂
In UAE and other part of world, Jetour Dashing has different interior. It has 15.6" display and much more stylish interior. Not sure why in South Africa they copied X70 interior to Dashing.
Just test drove the dashing, very hard decision as they both look so stunning and the one has 2 additional seats. However what has since sold me on the Dashing is the acceleration thereof, the x70 plus was a bit sluggish when trying to overtake as the power to weight ratio is not great in my personal opinion, however with the dashing being a lighter vehicle, I felt the difference almost immediately when accelerating, which made the vehicle much more appealing as it matches the sporty vibe one gets from the dashing’s appearance. Plus, they come in the beautiful ash grey colour too!
My mom and I drove the x70 plus deluxe yesterday (The only car they offer test drives in), she was shocked by the weight of the steering ... its light and good, and for a 7 seater she said the car didn't feel as big as it looks when driving. I am average height and i could fit well in the 3rd row with the 2nd row seat fully reclined back and could feel the aircon of the car, over a long drive with the 2nd row fully reclined back i would get quite uncomfortable, and with the 2nd row seat in a normal position i have no complaints. The 2nd row seats can also recline back. She did say she could feel the engine was not as powerful as an other car with 140Kw max power and max 400nm torque (this car being a diesel). The Jetour engine (driving in sport) was powerful enough to scare me though, and we didn't go past 80km/h but when i was looking at the spedometer and hearing the car, you can tell this car really picks up its speed in the 3 digit range, so thats good for overtaking i guess. But don't take my word for it, go test drive this car... I was sold by the cars ability to open all the windows by voice command😂 and she was quite shocked to. I do agree that it could be more powerful, and its nothing too bad to complain about as the car is still reletively powerful and able to go quick for its size. I did ask for a sound system test. It's not better than a haval jolian pro's sound system (both cars at default sound settings), but it is an acceptable one, just a few tweaks in the sound settings for the Jetour and i think I'll be good. We test drove this car at the dealership where this youtube video was recorded, in northcliff. Oh ja, also, if it were up to me between the jolian pro and this car .. Id take the jolian pro because of its sound system and my mom said it has a heads up display, but I'd also be happy with the Jetour because of the feel it gives. The seats in the Jetour are also just abit more comfortable than the Jolian pro's one.
@@joshuamartin818 Thanks for your detailed feedback! I think if they start offering these type of vehicles in a 2.0 litre diesel, they will sell like hot cakes. Most complaints are around fuel consumption and this would solve that
Fantastic : it looks good from any angle. Very premium, comparable or maybe even better than most Japanese or European cars n half of their price. 👍👍👍👍👍
In the top GLX CVT automatic do you get heated front seats like the UK spec and is the cruise control adaptive to follow the car Infront of you without the need to slow down manually and finally dose it have lane follow or lane keep assist to steer the car for you on a multiple lane road ?
Thank you for keeping to your promise on Omoda review. I am not a very tall side like you and based on everything i saw in this review, i think i would give it a consideration...👌👌
Both Cheryl and Jaeco are trendy, sporty and hybrid. But don't know how is the resale value, maintenance cost, spare parts. Not many cars in the market yet.
Nice review but this is the old version. Newer ones have bigger screens, stalk gear selector and other details on dashboard. Also it now has different rims and tyres. This is the pre-updated version.
@@AutoBot_7 Just please search for Chery Omoda 5 Pro. It is released in Türkiye, under Chery brand. I don't want to give channel names to avoid advertising. You will instantly see the new rims. Most channels reviewed the dark blue, namely the press car.
