I mainly fish for largemouth bass in the midwest. I enjoy fishing for other species as well. I belong to a group called Bassin the Burbs. We are a group of guys who enjoy the sport and help other people with tips and techniques.

Love long lake. I just moved to the neighborhoods around it about a year ago. Been fishing there since and I just got a boat to get out on the water lol yesterday was my first time out there. Great Lake nice fish. Catch and release always 😎
Nice video and catches! I've seen videos of someone catching a huge muskie there many years ago. Do they still charge entrance fee for non LC residents?
You’re lucky that he didn’t give you a ticket. I used to fish and ski there all the time. It would be nice if they explained that you need a permit when you launched but that makes too much sense
#1: thats not the Carpenterville dam. #2: if you guys think those fish are big, you obviously have never seen big fish like 20-100 lb carp and cats. and those small mouth bass are babies. LOL.
@@FlipsideFishing I’m about 45 min South of there. Places I fish seem to have more water weeds than usual this time of year. Swimbait keeps me just above the weeds and snags on shallow banks. But Ned rig is great.
I never could figure why it’s called Skokie Lagoons. The town is nowhere near it. It was man made to hide underwater missile clusters. Back in the day the water was so polluted you were lucky to catch carp there.
Cool video guys maybe I'll see ya on the water one day. I just hit that SUBSCRIBE button. I put a smash fest on at night on that lake with my buddy Die Hard Angling yall should check out 🍻🤘
Have you fished below the damn in Algonquin at the water plant? There is a park and public fishing and the smallmouth fishing in the spring and summer is off the hook! Not to mention the walleyes and BIG fish runs! The crawdad crank baits in current spots and top water flukes will work really well in that area. When the water is lower wade out to the middle and cast across in most of that shoreline the other side is pretty deep so the big smallies are hanging out there. My biggest Fox River smallie is 6.3 pounds. And it was caught at the water plant
I'm learning how to fish and got my son into fishing, we go almost every other day but have a hard time.. trying to really learn the ropes if you ever go again I'd love to meet for some great needed knowledge
hey man. youtube is your best friend when learning different baits to use. If u go to whalon often, try to stay away from the deep sections. Look up the depth map online for whalon.
Sorry for the super late reply.... My brother lives near Whalon... We usually hit the shallows near the islands in the middle. Water clarity and temp is how I decide what to throw that day.
Any chance we can have the location? New to fishing, enjoy your channel! As a bank fisherman access to a pond like this pond is awesome and helpful when bringing dad or grandpa.
Honestly I do. Or recall where this was exactly. But there are tons of retention ponds all over the place. I just use Google Maps and look. Most ponds hold fish to control the frog population.
