Are you seriously touching his eyeball with that pointer? NO WAY! I cannot even put eye drops in my eyes, I flinch too bad, so I cannot have that probe on my eyeball! Forget That!
Pachymentry cannot be used as a substitute to Goldmann (applanation)- Tonometry, because they measure different things. A pachymeter such as the one demonstrated in this video measures corneal thickness, while Goldmann-Tonometry measures intraoccular preassure (IOP), which is of interest in glaucoma-patients. However, the two procedures are often used together/supplement each-other like so: Pachymetry is used to correct/adjust IOP values, after Tonometry has taken place (since a thicker/thinner cornea can result in falsely-high, or low IOP values, respectively)
