#Southwest match angler, Started match fishing at a late age really of 28yrs old. Won my first match with 7 tench on waggler n caster and was well n truely hooked! (forgive the pun) Joined a few clubs and in time joined a team, fished for Glaston manor, Weston, Sharp Match Group, Thatchers match group, Todber Manor and finally Blackmorevale. So a real apprenticeship if you like. Team fishing numbers dropped so I then entered the commercial open circuit in about 2015 and really enjoy it.
This channel is to hopefully entertain enthusiasts, help people learn a little more and give a true prospective of the commercial match fishing scene in the Southwest.
Well done Bob you didn't manage to draw that flyer but fifth in a good field of anglers is a good result thanks for the heads up hope the GoPro fund is coming on nicely
Really enjoyed your last 2 vids Bob, well done on 5th in the final. Considering the peg and that awful scum filling your swims it was a great performance 👍
Morning Bob, very hard to get good presentation with all that scum on the surface, probably cost you to be fair, nevertheless a great performance you got to be pleased with the results. Regards Dave.
Another great watch, another couple of fish and 2nd was a possibility. What a pain having to fish 17.5m across. We have a peg that gets like that, that attracts the scum, normally fish with a heavy float and feed through a pot putting under surface and emptying. Great angling and well done on achieving 5th,
You keep knocking yourself Bob, your a better fisherman than your letting on lol, very very well fished mate, and all the best in the final, very tight lines,
Morning Bob, cracking practice match well out in front with your winning weight, best of luck in the final Bob fingers crossed for a good draw. Regards Dave.
A good day's fishing good luck in the next round and the last qualifier I would like to make a little donation to your go Pro fund if you can send me a link as i had a cheeky tenner on Kristian Jones at 14/1
Wow a good bet Brian. If you look at my video before playing it, there should be a little dollar sign in a heart with the word thanks underneath the thumbnail, just tap that and follow instructions. Really appreciate that Brian, will give you a shout at the end of my next Video 👍
I think 3 or 4 maggot farms had to kill everything for some reason which as left tackle shops short of maggots, casters and pinkies.Another great video mate 👍
@@allanhodgson5295 it's a simple D25 as there's no need for the larger frame on commercials. They are marmite though, peeps love or hate them and I am a ❤️
Hi, Use the 9ft free spirit Hi-s coupled with a Daiwa Tournament 3010QD-DH reel. Tbh I have the cheaper version of free spirit rods too in 9ft and 10ft and there the CTX and they're great aswell, but half the price.
@@michaelchandler5437 great question! Think it's honestly down to individual preference and I really like the free spirit rods, let's not forget they stem from the big carp boys rods too.
Year you were a bit disappointed, 153lb lol, the only thing i can help you with is make sure you go for a very good microphone, mine is ok but i have to charge it part way through the match, and the other thing is put Live Maggot Match #matchfishinguk, put that in the head line because there is a lot of people search for match fishing uk, hope that helps for views, when i was on holiday i was only 11 miles away from there, Thank you bob, PS your a better fisherman than your letting on lol,
Well done Bob, great video as always and you are so consistent, not envious at all😂, I see you always start with meat over micros, is that a general thing or just at that venue?
@@IanMacdonald-j7p Thank you for yiur kind words, more this venue tbh, although if meat allowed in an any methods match I would always have a quick look on the short meat, more so March-April and Aug-Oct
Well done Bob on winning the silver's match pittey about the bad draw well theirs always next year keep the videos coming and good luck for the rest of the year
Well done Bob, a difficult peg to manage with it being a bit rocky but well impressed with your silver's haul. Really enjoyed the league thanks for taking the time to put it up. Regards Dave.
Nice result and well done on winning the silvers. How far off wining the match were you. Would those foul hooked carp made a difference. Love the simplicity of that league and the fact kit (within everyone's buget) doesn't really hinder anyone.
