What's it all about, good question.
Primarily building Model Railway Kits, modifying or detail enhancement of out of the box models and occasionally Scratch builds of something or other.
Because I don't want two channels, I will also upload some of my REAL railway footage too. Mostly current day things that I see, well, work on. At some stage in the future I'll sort through my VHS archives and transfer that as well. Probably in the winter months when its too cold to venture out to the garage!
Similarly, 3rd channel isn't happening either, so on the rare occasions I film a running related thing, that will also appear here.
Oh, and I say it quite a lot in my videos, I'm no expert, and this is not a how to (or in some channels cases, you've got to do it this way!) or tutorial channel. More like a blog of my experiences of the things I've learned or seen other people do.

Excellent tutorial video, I've been wanting to try making a courier van for ages, but had only ever seen it done on an ancient Lima model.. The end result looks great!
hi, great video, i remember Horsham signal box as a child in the 60's have 2 hornby dublo signal boxes.great days when we could play with toy trains and not worry about too much detail, the N2 was great,
Just bought a Lima class 20 and noticed the body was extremely difficult in removing, luckily it hadn’t split the body yet. I can only describe removing the body from the chassis as a b****** new chassis on the way for as much as I paid for the loco. Oh the joys
Nice job - am building 6x Slaters NER 20T wagons and same as you painting is my bete noir. Slaters are a slight step up on Parkside but need bearings and wheels sourcing. I have also been fitting some ols EZmate (kadee) couplings I found at a train fair donkeys years ago.
Good video - nice work. I could only do this to wagon kits I am building at around £9-10 anything above that would freak me aout esp when Acc wagons are now around £30
Ive only just discovered your channel. I have boxes of this old dublo stuff. It was certainly built to last. What you have done with this is simply amazing.
I have one of these 'Generic' signal boxes and it has a name plate of 'Overton' which is near Basingstoke, in what would have been possibly Southern Region territory; though there are no current requirements for a signal box there today. I have seen very similar styled signal boxes at 'Hump' martialling yards reconstructed post WW II here in the UK, Northern Europe and in America, from where the design probably originates. There are at least three states in America with places called Overton, so its design origins depend more on what could be passed off in different markets to maximise profits from one set of tooling.
All modern chemical stuff is crap. As i say and lots hate it " Its all made for use by office workers " Apart from paper glue their safety awareness with chemicals is limited. So the companies make it weak so they don't hurt themselves.
Great job! I suspect the prices of the Hornby Dublo signal box will now skyrocket... 🙂 Personally, I would use some resistors to limit the LEDs a bit, I think they are too bright. Thanks for the video.
I've often wondered if one of those old boxes could be upgraded, so this was an interesting watch. The end result here is better than any modern ready-to-plant model IMO.
Similar style to the metal Station Building at West Allerton - an Art Deco station building - which could extended by inserting sections - and with sloping sections. The colour was not " beige and something: it was a creamish colour mainly. This was/ is the mainline from Liverpool Lime Street . West Allerton next up Edggehill Engine Sheds ( long gone)
It looks much better and the windows and interior detail bring it to life. The original R61 Tri-ang signal box would benefit from the same. They just look abandoned without the windows, like vandals have smashed them all. The brick sections look good too. 😊👍
