Street view makes a big difference in my work. I live in the UK and as many will know, parking here is inescapably crap. I very often look at street view to see possible parking spots where I have to go. It's been invaluable
i watched my old village again. there is almost no streetview available. back then every single street from the village was covered with streetview. today there is only 1% of all the footage left. sad, because i was sitting on the bench with all of my friends back then in school. it was a pretty fun gimmick to go back in time and look at us hanging around.
Vietnamese Government take down of offical street view because legal reason which google not complete comply yet which will have take a lot paper to comply of local law before re-releasing to Vietnam, well is won't affect local Vietnamese street view who uploaded google maps but it's limited coverage some area, now Google street in Vietnam is heavily relying on vietnamese user who have streetview camera equipment only very few vietnamese have equipments to cover google maps around gen 2-4 but cover are limited is mostly follow Vietnam National Route, Vietnam Motorway and Major road in some city not many in rural area also they don't cover whole QL.1 (National Route 1) so they left in gap
Amazing video. Wonder why the Shitcam even exists to begin with. It isn't like Google lacks the money to send out new high quality cameras to obscure countries. I feel like it might be legal reasons.
Very informative. So much that we never knew about Google Maps! Just one thing to be mentioned is that at the end of the video you have the globe spinning backward...🌎
I was so excited of when I knew that they started street view in Lebanon but they only did the main roads of Beirut (the capital) and the camera was like the one in 2008.
Actually, some cities in Mexico were added in July 2007, an example is Tijuana, which is closer to California, most spots are the ''Vía Rápida freeway''
In greece 2009 street view it was to capture street view from these cities athens thessaloniki and larrisa but because they miss capturing thessaloniki and larrisa for government issues only athens has 2009 but maybe thessaloniki and larrisa have some 2009 street view but unpublished
havent played geoguesser in a year, thought id give it a wirl again... WTAF GEOGUESSER. They had a fucking golden goose and got greedy as shit. I thought one free game a day was bad, but understandable, holy hell... any alternatives?
A couple months ago I was on maps and I honestly don’t know if this is a “new” feature or if it was a “glitch” of some kind but I was on the 3D satellite aerial view on maps that comes with iPhone and all of a sudden I was able to zoom in extremely close and it was not only just a strict top view anymore like how you can only move the camera angle very slightly. Well, the view could be level with everything else and every single building and structure was completely 3D. For instance, I could literally see the little solar panels on telephone poles with the foliage even growing up it. I could see extremely fine details on every single building. I could actually see the graffiti drawn on buildings and I could literally read every word, word for word on billboards and the pictures of faces of people on these billboards and could even see the speed limits on the very small street signs. I’m currently trying to do it again but I can’t lol. I don’t know if it’s just me or if that really was a glitch but it was really cool to me and I took a bunch of screenshots. Again, it was from aerial view, not street view. Another cool feature, on maps that come with iPhone at least, is when you’re in the “explore” settings that just the animated version of everything, if you zoom in they added the lines on the roads such as double yellow lines, dotted yellow/ white traffic lines, left and right turn lanes etc. And if you go to a city like Washington DC or really any major city, some of the “iconic” buildings and landscapes have a lot of detail added to them. Like the Lincoln monument, you can actually see the statue of Lincoln sitting in the chair or some of the museums, on the top trim of the buildings are of the very detailed, very small design of the architecture. And one time about 2 years ago I went on street view on google maps and I randomly pinpointed a spot in Moscow Russia and it put me inside of a weird little woman’s department store in a shopping mall. It was cool to see what it was like because I’ve never been to Russia but like I said it was also kind of weird, but in a good way. It reminded me of a woman’s fashion mall that was really high-end and was only weird in the sense that I’m a male and I was basically walking around a shopping mall with narrow corridors that had all women’s fashion department stores.
being from romania and also being incredibly addicted to transportation history i more often than not use google street view history for looking at abandoned railways or bus/tram depots. the older coverage really helps out in finding more obscure details about places and it's overall a much more reliable source than just word of mouth from my parents or grandparents. gotta love it
Bro, thank you for putting it in so simply I was searching what a “Commonwealth”was it up and it’s giving me a long paragraph and I can’t find the direct answer to it or cant understand it but God bless, thank you for helping me understand simply.
