Hello, my mother was a local country artist with 3 albums she died when i was 8, album co. Wentout of business. How do I find out who owns her song rights? And how do I get a copy of her contract?

For clarification purposes, a beat/instrumental should be copyrighted but not registered, correct? Should a song (beat/instrumental WITH lyrics) go through copyright & registration?
OK JamMob folks. My situation is a little more complicated I think, than what is covered in this video...I put together an album that has a total of 10 songs on it. Two songs were written by my brother Mikey and I (sadly, Mikey passed away a few years ago, but his wife is living, so if anything happened to where these songs were released and the public took to them at any level, I would want her to receive what Mikey would have realized by being a co writer), one song is written by a friend of mine,Danny, who is fine with that song being on the album, another is one Danny and I collaborated on, another is written by my oldest brother, Rae, who is living, but haven't asked him if it is ok if I release the album with his song on it (I'll put this in here as to clarify: all the music, like guitar, bass, keys, vocals, etc. were performed by me, with the exception of a harmonica part in one song, which was done by Danny, including my brother's song, which really is me doing a cover of his song), the rest of the songs on it were written by myself. The writing of these songs span over a 20 year period of time, and all the tracks on it are the original tracks, with enhancements multitracked into them to make the tracks glue together, if that makes any sense at all. At first, I considered it just a rough draft, and had intent to redo the whole thing, but then I thought if I did that, it may be way sonically superior, knowing what I know now about multitracking and mixing, but then decided it would loose the moment when the songs were conceived, and what took place when they actually became completed songs...so how do you handle this? Do I need permission from everyone involved before releasing them? I for sure want to give credit where credit is due, and have no intent for taking credit for something someone else wrote or conceived. Also, since a lot of the multitracks don't exist anymore (old computers and DAWs that are long gone), many I only have the 2 track mix downs, as stated earlier, that I have dropped into Logic and enhanced with stuff to make the album more cohesive from song to song...I don't want it to just sit without at least giving folks a chance to hear it, for better or worse. Any direction as to how to put this out the right way would be much appreciated. Thanks for the video, and hope all at JamMob are doing great.
I'm just learning that voiceovers are required for all spotify ads. Why do they not give an option for musicians to just play an audio or a video with music only?

If I wrote a song(lyrics)and have music for it but someone with a live band wants to play it… do I copyright it before they turn it into a live show performance or do I wait until they put the live music to it? ❤
I would copyright the song before letting anybody perform it. If they would want to copyright their performance of it, they could, but you would still own the rights to the song.
