You totally blew it on this story. Firat half wasn't very good. Second half was totally screwed. Way, way, way, way to much diarrhea of the mouth ssying too much without saying much. Last 15 minutes and after the weird facial expressions and maniac laughter are removed not much left and most of it forgettable if not for it being recorded and then shown for her incompetence to be on display for Republicans to rightfully make fun of. I admit I am only seven minutes into this, but I get the feeling that either the writer has little knowledge or experience with biology or human reproduction. Is this AI generated? The discussion doesn't follow what I'd call a logical progression. The human xenobiologist, even though it is clear from the beginning he is attracted to her, should have asked more about what the alien already knew, or thought she knew, in order to establish a starting point. Ten minutes in, the human character should be anything other than a scientist. He talks more like a poet, a member of the clergy, a fiction writer, or some kind of non-scientist. Even distracted by his obvious attraction, anyone with clinical or scientific training would be doing a better job. Covering a few other issues first, even by just saying that the mechanics and biological aspects of reproduction are on file in some database that they both had access to, would allow for a more logical. Then the progression into a discussion of pair bonds and emotional attachments could be discussed as having their roots in the development and nurturing of offspring. Many of those connections are associated with, but not requirements of, the bio-mechanics. A life form that reproduced using some kind of telepathic, or electronic data transmission likely wouldn't have many common frames of reference to even communicate the ideas. Unless we find out she is the product of some kind of sentient machine culture, that is a little difficult to make plausible in this short amount of time. Asking if all life on her world reproduced in similar ways to what she reported and otherwise settling on common terminology.

Right, so humans are immune to the lasers. But nothing else is. Clothes, gear, weapons, things, etc aren't, so all the aliens need do it just shoot at the humans and whatever they're wearing and carrying will be destroyed (and possibly hurting the human holding it). Also, since the laser are passing right through the human unimpeded, whatever is carried on the back is fair game. The aliens don't even need to flank the humans to target what is behind them. Humans would be completely disarmed and disabled in short order. No need to revert to "conventional" weaponry. It's Interesting premise, but not fully thought out.

Not banned, just have to have a reason other than self defence, like hunting. Cant get certain weapons without very difficult and special permits, like handguns or automatics. If you have any mental health issues at all, you wont be able to get licencing. The AI narration was a bit frustrating. She should have come back to see him. It was pretty easy to visualize the story which was a big plus. @stonepvv Personally, I like the blue skin.
