We have no say in the organisation of tournament's or referee's instructions or decisions. If we are told there is a Walking Football Tournament and the rules are 3 runs and it's a penalty to the opposition, and that rule is clearly adhered to as there was many fouls given and penalties awarded on the day, sometimes at the cost of losing the match or at least dropping points. Then that is clearly a Walking Football Tournament. If a player chooses to run and risk a foul or even a penalty then that's his or her choice. There will be times when a player runs and the referee doesn't see it or chooses not to give a foul for reasons usually only known to him but it doesn't change the rules or require a change of name. The referees have a lot more to think about than referees of regular football because they have added rules such as 3 touches, head height, no heading, players not allowed in the box, keepers not allowed out of the box etc etc

As if to prove the point how controversial penalty taking is, our panel of experts have deemed Davie Mackinnon's penalty at 04:28 void because he lifts his heel just before striking the ball.
According to Walking Football Scotland rules “ if any of the following occur prior to the ball being kicked; feign/fake/shimmy/pause/jump the kick will be void there is no reference to your heel slightly raised for some reason referee’s are ruling this as an infringement of the penalty rule.
Like any new law or change to an existing law it takes time for players to become familiar with the technique required. Something that is a bit disappointing is there is very little evidence players who normally take penalties are practicing the technique before competitions. Fail to prepare....prepare to fail 😢
11:40 Hi guys what you demonstrated is the issue with no steps. All the penalties went to bottom left corner as natural movement for right footed player other than the toe basher down the middle.
I agree, it is difficult for a right footed player to kick it to the right so the natural movement means the ball will go to the left although not necessarily to the bottom left. One of those penalties went to the top left.
