I considered that, but then that creates gaps on the front in the curves so I figured I like it better uniform at least across the front with the edges all touching. Thanks for the idea.

Your bag of cement in the garage probably would not work right. It has to be a type called "fast-setting" on the front of the bag. Its the only kind speically made for this appication. Sweet kit. I’m currently restoring a Majestic Semi-Pro in blue sparkle and found this video particularly inspiring. The Semi-Pro had a little different mounting setup and didn’t have the offset lug design but inside it’s exactly the same. That’s a sweet CB-700 snare with the wristwatch lugs and sounds AMAZING!
Great question. You at least need the edging temporarily to use it as a form for the cement to make it straight and level. What you can do is attach the plastic edge to the ground in reverse and then when the cement is cured, you can pull the spikes out and remove the plastic edge easily. If you want to use this technique, just use the plastic spikes-cut them in half first so they can go in and back out of the ground easily. It works great. Let me know if I can help you any more.
I am going to do this but I am going to bury the stones so they are ground level so that I ride the mower over the stones so that no weed eating along the stones will be needed. I just want to drive the mower and be done!
Did you dig up the area that you mulched or did you just spray and then put plastic or cardboard down and then mulch? Wall looks great but what about inside that is what I’m curious about.
On the inside, I use a muching technique using cardboard as a weed barrier that works perfectly. I'd recommend it always for badly weedy or grassy areas to easily kill it off for a long period of time. It works REALLY well. Yes, when I came to this realization, it makes many things possible...but take note...this method only works with "fast-setting" concrete mix. It is made to work like this....all other kinds, you need to use traditional mixing methods which is ok, but a LOT more work for many projects. Thanks for your comment and have a great day!!

That's a good question and I don't know the science of it, but all I know is that several people have made this border in northern regions including Canada several years ago and they have commented that the border is in perfect shape still after harsh winters.
