I remember listening to his Luve album. As you know, this song was on it. However, Badlands was. I listened to Darkness, but did not find myself entranced. If I needed motivation, that live Badlands was on over and iver. Thus was the day of cassettes and rewind! Then, I heard this song. I am another motivational song. And it had something Badlands did not have. Yes they both have that huge chorus, but the music during the verses assisted in relating to life woes that can overwhelm.
Saw the Asbury Jukes play with the Stones in 1978. They were about 1/4 inch tall onstage unfortunately it was at a giant stadium ( Soldier field)Peter tosh came out and blew the place away a stadium show
I am!!! (9/18/2024) I used to live in Asbury and other places around the beach (that's what us natives called it...out of towners called it the shore LOL. Now I'm far away and wasn't able to attend the Sea Hear Now concert. But have been enjoying the videos of it on the tube :) Back in the late 70's, my BFF and I used to go the Pony on Saturday night to spend my babysitting money from Friday night {even tho we weren't quite old enough to...but Butch and Judy turned a blind eye cuz me and my BFF were friends of a friend}. Saw lots of bands back in those days, but when Bruce would jump on stage and close the show were the BEST times and BEST music ever! So I just remembered Southside Johnny- we all just loved his band and music - and am 😁so thrilled to find this video of the good ole days when Bruce would jam w/ the Jukes...and he brought Stevie with him! So glad to find this video, and I will still be listening in 2025, 2026, 2027......
Was at the show last night, the sound, lighting, band and Jeff were awesome so glad I got to finally see him. There are not many music artists left with the like of his talents and creativity. Thanks for posting !
So Happy you caught this ! The ending on this song was tremendous . From section 207 where I was , it was mind blowing !! Fantastic show ! Jeff Lynne is a true classic .💯💥💗
One of my favorite Bruce songs of all time. Awesome story songs bookended symmetrically with one of my favorite lines, "Driving out of Darlington County Seen Wayne handcuffed to the bumper of a state trooper’s Ford" Love it!
Thank you for your great videos of this amazing concert. It was my first time in the pit and Bruce held my hand during Ghosts. Did you happen to take a video of that song? You would have had a good angle for it. I am in the black and white checked shirt on the left side of the bump out. It would mean so much to me to have it. Thank you.
