I once owned a new '67 LeMans covt, followed 2 yrs later by a new '69 LeMans convt. Excellent cars. '67 was a 4spd with 326 v8. '69 was auto with 350 v8. I seriously considered getting GTOs, but my monthly insurance pmt would of been higher than the bank car pmts.Thats what happened to young guys back then, even with a clear driving record, ins pmts were steep. Ins co had figured out all the muscle car configurations by the late 60's. Even though I settled for the LeMans, they were truly fine ride.
