This was very helpful! I replaced camshaft sensor (11.00 bucks on Amazon)and code still reading 0010 so I changed both variable valves and code cleared. Both Parts was under 20.00 on Amazon. Thank you you for the detailed video

How does the clip come off
@everythingoutdoorsman
@everythingoutdoorsman 11 месяцев назад
If I recall, slide out the little grey clip and try squeezing it right where the clip is at while pulling gently apart. Look where the two come together. You should be able to see the little hook that keeps the wire harness from accidentally disconnecting. One tiny hook keeps that thing held together. They are frustrating.

Beyond all the positive and negative comments, I want to add to the positive comments. I've seen several videos related to this fix and you are the first to mention disconnecting the battery terminal to minimize any damage to an electrical component. Thank you! I'm making this fix in a day or so after already replacing the intake and exhaust solenoids a couple of weeks ago.

Very Good Video. I have a friend (ad I'm no pro) who has a P0016 andn P0011 codes and I started on the VVT solenoids like you said most do. Fired it up with great expectations, and dang....still misfires/out ot time and pulled the Crankshaft and Cam sensor codes. Luckily they are easy to replace, and I might. tackle it this weekend and get him rolling.

They are 18 inches apart. That seems to be a good length to use for all arrow/ draw lengths, but if you only do your own draw length i suppose you could customize it to length. I have another video where i moved these to a piece of wood that has my arrow cutting and fletching tool mounted to it. Kind of a three in one setup.

Honestly, if your vehicle is stalling and you have the P0011 code, then most likely it is the variable valve sensor. That is based off the statistics I got from the auto parts store and the most common failures. The intake and exhaust sensors go bad pretty regular. My vehicle only has 60,000 miles on it and I have had both the intake and exhaust valves go bad on me. When I got the P0011 code pop up, I changed both the intake sensor and camshaft position sensor just to be on the safe side. So if I was you, I would start with replacing the intake sensor first to see if that solves the problem. If not, then change the camshaft position sensor. Plus the intake sensor is easier to replace because of where it is located. Hope that helps. I haven't had a problem since I changed them.

@@chinchillamade Make sure you didn't install the intake and exhaust in reverse spots. If not, check the code again and see if you may be having a different issue. There are multiple different causes from the same code. This is just some of the most common.
