Just starting my journey into my great grand father and his two brothers who served in ww1. From what ave found so far in church records at the 2.30min of this video is a still picture of the boys from parkgate co antrim. among that pic is 3 of my family members. All 3 came home.

All my great great granda and uncles were 9th and 10th Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. Great great granda laid till rest in the Somme 2nd July 1916 due to a german grenade, out of 3 great great uncles only 1 came home, his 2 brothers lies 14 miles from each other in April and August 1917 Belgium. Robert's (killed 1917) 2 sons and their half brother will later fight in Burma which their half brother will be the only one killed in WW2 by torture then executed by beheading by the Japanese. My mum's Granda and his brother served aswell, mum's uncle was wounded in the stomach not sure where. And my granda's 3rd cousin (the 3 that fought in Burma was his 1st cousins) well his 3rd cousin was conscripted into the U.S. army either WW2 or Korea I can't mind, he survived. I know more close family served by not much is known. Also a copy of Robert's UVF certificate sits proudly on our mantle piece. They will always be in our hearts and memories. Lest We Forget

my great grandfather was in the 12th btn royal Irish rifles. He survived. God only knows how.
