Hi, I’m a theme park enthusiast based in the UK and for years I have brandished the title Coaster Chicken due to my fears of big rollercoasters and thrill rides. But that started to change when I met my wife who started to push me into facing these fears head on. So I set up this channel to chronicle my journey and perhaps help anyone else face their theme park fears. Check back here for tips on braving rides, POV’s to help prepare and how to have your best park days.
I also have instagram where I share all my favourite theme park shots so join me there for further themepark content:- instagram.com/coaster_chicken/
You actually can do the whole Fairytale Forest in one route, if you start where you guys went in the second time. :) Sleeping Beauty is supposed to be the first one and you end with the Chinese Nightingale.
Hey hey! The rest rooms were always clean and tidy! The dark rides themselves were mostly air conditioned or cooler cause they were in the dark. There’s lots of wooded areas and stuff and lots of interactive water things that can help keep you cool
...how is there that much to Efteling?? I didn't even know about half of the attractions in this vlog 😂 It really is a park for adventure and discovery! 😁
Thanks so much for watching!! There’s so so much there! We did 3 full day vlogs and it was only really half way through the day 3 vlog that we had seen it all
@@yoloswaggins9989 Thanks so much for watching, think the heat got to my wife but check out our day 2 and 3 videos where she finds the beauty of Efteling
i’ve been a big time efteling fan since i first went at 3 years old. like i know every single detail about the history and the attractions and much more. and i absolutely love watching people from all over the world share their experiences at efteling. it really is such a unique park! surprisingly, i have never seen the gates being opened! not on video or in real time. so thank you for sharing that hahaha i love to learn new things about efteling :)
Can't be dealing with these symbolica views. Wrong just wrong 😂😂😂 Nah each to their own but I for one really miss one of the best dark rides in the world 😉
Was so glad to see you did the diorama and steam carousel, they were such unexpected delights when I went. Can't explain why but I loved the diorama so much it bought on autistic happy stims and I'm not usually a big stimmer!
@@tjakdi I’m not gonna lie to you but I absolutely adored the rollercoasters at the Efteling and will be returning to get back on Baron 1898, Flying Dutchman and Joris en de draak for sure! It’s a beautiful park though and check out our day 3 vlog coming soon with our trip around the fairytale forest
I really love foreigners visiting our park, but man, your girlfriend. She's so negative about everything! Symbolica? Not good enough. Villa Volta? Nauseous. Volk van Laaf? Waste of space. Stoom carousel? Very short. Etc. etc. What's wrong with her?!
Keep an eye out for day 2 and day 3 vlogs, telling wins her heart. Think the heat was getting to her day one! She loves the park now and can’t wait to return. Think the heat was getting to her on day one
@@janklaassen6404 Yeah, she loved Droomvlucht, still says it’s the best ride she’s ever done but Symbolica does win her over eventually. We tried to ride on all 3 versions
I agree with her on symbolica. I roden it 2 times, but it just doesn't do it for me. I'm glad many people do like it. We don't have to like everything the same 😊
@CoasterChicken exactly, I liked that you did Droomvlucht and the Flying Dutchman. Those are 2 of my favorites as well, and the late spookslot, which is going to be the new scary ride Danse Macabre, opening on Halloween. Max and Moritz and The Baron are great too, and the fairytale forrest. I live a 10 minute busride from it, and have a subscription to the park. Once the heat is subsided I will go again😃
Nice vlog. FYI Efteling is not owned by a big corporation like Disney but by a foundation that is why the prices are lower than Disney prices. That also means they have much less budget than Disney to built rides. Nonetheless Danse Macabre the new haunted mansion they are building is said to cost 35 million euros. I know it will be a unique ride. A lot of people think that Efteling started out as fairytale forest but that is not true. Efteling started as a football field with a playground. They started to build more and more playground stuff and more and more people came with their children. After that they built the fairytale forest and then people started to come from all over the country. So it slowly evolved into a big themepark the size of 80 football fields. Most Dutch people have been to The Efteling on school trips, with their parents or grandparents so there is a lot of nostalgia there. What makes The Efteling different is that is built in a nature reserve. Unfortunately people who live close by The Efteling objected to expansion of the park with other rides and rollercoasters due to noise complaints. I have been to Disneyland in the US and to The Efteling. The Efteling is way better than Disneyland in the US. I never been to Disneyworld tough that will probably be better. Efteling is said to be the number 3 most visited themepark in Europe. Europapark and Phantasialand in Germany are said to be the best themeparks in Europe. Interesting to know is that Efteling was built before Disney parks even existed and is one of the oldest themeparks in the world. I think a lot of other themeparks took inspiration from The Efteling. The imagineers of Disneyland Paris for example asked The The Efteling imagineers and builders for help what people in Europe would like to see. I heard one imagineer of Efteling who did a lot work in The Efteling now works for Disneyworld in the US. Winter Efteling is a thing too, then they theme everything to a winter wonderland. P.s. I dont know if you have been to Polles Kitchen in The Efteling where they have moving parts that go off every 15 minutes so fun. At Polles Kitchen there you could try poffertjes which are Dutch mini pancakes which is what Dutch peoplr recommend to tourists to try as a starter. After that you can order giant pancakes that come on giant plates. We have pancake restaurants and pancake boats in The Netherlands that we go to for dinner in the evening with our children. These giant Dutch pancakes are usually eaten by children with sweet stuff like chocolate, Nutella or powdered sugar. Adults usually eat these giant pancakes with savoury stuff like ham and cheese or other savoury toppings like on a pizza. The pancake boats goes out on the lake and canals in the evening so you get a tour while you eat those giant pancakes. We had Americans over and they tought they could eat 5 of these giant panckakes as they tought they would be small like American pancakes. The Americans could barely eat 2 of these giant pancakes.
@@2012inca hey hey! Thanks so much for watching and thanks so much for the information. We fell in love with the Efteling for sure and personally found it to be better in so many ways too Disney. Check out our day one vlog where we ate at Polles kitchen
@@CoasterChicken Ok I will take a look at your day one vlog. Did you only do themeparks in The Netherlands or also in other countries during this trip ? As said Europapark and Phantasialand in Germany are said to be the best themeparks in Europe. I have never been but my sister said these parks are even better than The Efteling.
@@2012inca we only did Efteling and toverland this time! We’ve previously done Disneyland Paris and gardaland vlog wise. We are going to Phantasialand in December (very excited) and Disneyland California in October
@@CoasterChicken . My sister just came back from a California - LA -- San Diego - Las Vegas - San Fransisco road trip. They didnt have time to go to Disney, the went to Universal studio's which had so much wait times they could only do 5 rides in an entire day. My sister said wont recommend it. Have a nice time in Phantasialand and Disneyland California
As promised , i would watch your followup videos :) I see that the park is growing on you. And what a difference to see Linzi with a big smile! Looks great :) Will there be another video?
@@stefan335 Thanks so much for watching!!! Yes our next video is a trip to Toverland which we made as we realised how close we were to that park as well then we have a final day at Efteling where we explored the fairytale forest and got on all our favourite rides again
I’m going there soon and I know this is such a dumb question but I’d like to make sure can you buy anything that you see in there? Thank you!!! Also I subscribed
@@MrFox2000 Hey Thanks so much for the subscribe! Yes you can buy anything they showcase there, you have to order most of the animatronic models for delivery though as they don’t have many in stock at the store.
@@CoasterChicken thank you so much I doubt I’m going to get some of the animatronics as I’m a local to the merry hill mall and round those areas unfortunately it would end up stolen thank you though!! I’m a huge Chucky fan and Michael Myers so I’m looking forward to it
They will give you an English language menu at Polle's Keuken if you ask. Polle's Keuken means Polle's Kitchen. Polle is the guy who almost hits you with his cart of pancakes in Symbolica.
The lift hill on Python is that slow in order to allow them to run two trains. It's quicker when they are only running one train (although still not very quick).
