We aren't looking for better athletes .... They NEED to be looking for goalies who aren't robotic ! They all look the same , they all do the same , they all drop to there knees now when the puck is below the hash marks ... that's your 10000 INCREASE in the 20degree shots taken ... if a goalie commits he's READ if he's READ he's DEAD ! Shooters are too good now at picking corners with sticks that give anyone a wicked shot.. the nhl is not what it used to be , and it's not as good as it seems .... just more promotion , just more goals , more HUGE LIGHTS MUSIC AND EFFECTS ..... but this game isn't better then it was in the passed sadly ... like it should be especially in the goalie position .

This is a phenomenal video. You mention briefly the failures of Canadian juniors development for goalies, I’d love to see a video on that cause I’ve been talking about it for years now. My opinion is that juniors isn’t preparing goalies to make the jump to pro hockey. A goalie finished juniors and has to jump right to the AHL where many just flounder. The US has the NCAA as an intermediary, the Europeans have 2nd tier pros like the VHL, Allsvenskan, and Mestis. Canadian goalies just aren’t prepared to compete with these more experienced guys. I would also argue that in drafting in general CHL players are massively overvalued. And goalies where there is a huge market inefficiency in ability to scout goaltenders, teams often just take the guys they see a lot and think are kinda good. Nowhere gets watched more than the CHL

That was an awesome video! I love that kind of content where you go deep into a specific aspect of hockey. Past or present, doesn't matter. It's always fun to learn from someone who knows his stuff. And there really isn't enough content like this for hockey. I'll stay tuned for your next videos!

Even though your content is in the niche, I’m sooo passionate about hearing your analysis. This is like very very good commentary. Like no cliche answers, you’re nailing the diagnoses every clip. You might not get many views, but your content doesn’t go under appreciated. - Kyle, Colorado, 20s

Do you seem him playing with Suzuki and Slafkovsky?
@two-linepass
@two-linepass 29 дней назад
Well, he's not on the roster yet. But boy, the idea of Demidov at center and Slafkovsky on the wing...as long as the rules continue to mandate that we only play with one puck at a time, I suspect Demidov and Slaf will have it. Conversely, watching Demidov-Suzuki-Caufield work off each other off the rush and in sustained attack zones settings seems fun too.

Michkov will hug the blueline like Kovalchuk did . it will cost them games. Matvei will get reprimended and will learn and adapt like Ilya did . but michkov dont have a tenth of Kovalchuk speed. Demidov in the other hand is near perfect in the THREE zones. His brain is always going 100000 mph like Datsyuk's brain. Demidov is by a mile better than Michkov. Yeah sure Michkov has a great shot . will it excuse him for his no existing defensive plays? kovalev mtl era, Kovalchuk, ovechkin were all excused because they can net 40+ goals 95 +pts I hope Michkov gets in the league and scores 40+ goals for years to come or he will have a bad time.

God, I mean Dal Colle was a 0-dimensional player with only 3 AHL seasons with a point every other game, one AHL season with a point per game, Wahlstrom did not break the US NTDP goal scoring record like Eiserman did, never mind in less games than Caufield's previous record

Really enjoyed this. Nicely done. I like both him and Michkov a lot. Judging by how high Levshunov went, I understand the Reinbacher pick. I think the Habs were also spooked over some of the drama surrounding Michkov. And Demidov seems pretty solid that way. He's excited to play with the pressure of playing in Montreal. It's going to be rocking at the Bell center.
