Aviation and Filmmaking run deep for me - I bounce between being a pilot that happens to make films, or a filmmaker who happens to be a pilot. Regardless, here I share my aviation experiences with you through the lens of a camera. Welcome!
The harder the flight due to weather or complexity etc. the more I slow things down to make sure I covered everything methodically and thoroughly. This will lead to fewer (self-induced) surprises. So I agree, don’t allow yourself to be rushed.
"Should have announced on CTAF", that my friend is very funny. I waited a few days to watch this content because I wanted to watch everything in one go. At KDAL, since you were cleared for 13L, I thought they would have had you cross the field and do a left base approach. Instead, they had you do a right base approach and cross 13R's glidepath instead. Didn't know that was allowed. Wonderful video, I learned a lot, and that bird joke... 🤣. You definitely earned a drink from me. If you guys ever fly into KSUA hit me up, we've got some great food here.
Thanks Josh and Chelsea, great work! Loved that you showed the good, bad and ugly of GA. Lots of educational moments in this video for low time pilots like me.
Josh - i have been with you for a very long time. This has to be the absolutely BEST piece of work you have ever produced! I knew it when I first saw you and Chelsie together - you make an amazing team together. Keep doing the right things in life and take care of each other.
Hey Josh... NEVER disappointed when coming to watch your production. The bird strike segment was epic. I'm just curious from the replay it was obvious that the bird hit the propeller, I don't recall if you checked the condition of the propeller. I assume there was no issue but it was interesting that you didn't mention it .The prop took the brunt of the hit first do you think that can be an issue in the future? Love the content it went down so smooth that It didn't even feel like it was over an hour long.. I indeed know what it takes to do this type of production and believe you me we appreciate the attention to details that you put in. Great work sir I definitely look forward to your next production.
Fantastic !! I always really enjoy your content and I love the way you two are when you fly together. Great to see "Big Bend" again - never been but it's now on my bucket list if I am ever planning a trip stateside. Looks awesome !!. Stay safe, see you again soon !
The line guy wanted to move it into the hangar but the break was on and the doors locked, he called the pilots about 30 minutes before the weather hit but they weren't close enough. It was painful to watch :(
You and Chelsea are so blessed to be privileged to mix work with pleasure and passion. And it shows in the quality of your products. And glad to see 991 survived that heron's "attack." Fly safe! Jim
Great job Josh! I also learned to fly into the storm cell. Not sure I would have thought about that in the moment but I will now. Chels nailed that tailwind landing too! Love your content!
What a beautiful work !! I’m following you since more than 10 y now, so inspiring and one question, your glasses are available in Europe ? (France to be precise)
About 30 years ago, Lajitas was host of the season opener to the Texas Mountain Bike Races. Always in February, missed a few Valentine Days. Beautiful area! Driving in we were warned "Speed Limit Enforced By Aircraft!" There was a 30 mile strip of highway just before Lajitas, perfectly flat and straight, with the warning sign at each end. You can imagine 10,000 Racers (people that love going fast) after 10 or 15 hours of driving. If you see a small airplane and you are going faster than it, you will have a State Trooper waiting in Lajitas! I saw the aircraft almost every time, but never was speeding!
This is stunning. Easily your best work. I really liked the drone footage. The sound incorporation was flawless. And the well timed flashbacks. Simply Awesome!
Aw man your killing me with all the Tex-Mex food footage. Born and spent my formative years in San Antonio and I miss the food the most. Even in NYC, almost impossible to find real TexMex. Thanks for taking us along.
